The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath. His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness.

For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place: / For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? / Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? / Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: / Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

The wealth of the wicked has been stored up for the righteous.

God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

What I fear and desire most in this world is passion. I fear it because it promises to be spontaneous, out of control, unnamed, beyond my reasonable self. I desire it because passion has color, like the landscape before me. It is not pale. It is not neutral. It reveals the backside of the heart.

The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
