The early Monday night gezegde

 The early Monday night games in college, that was a big thing because we'd do anything not to study in college. We needed a good excuse and 'Monday Night Football' was that.

 We know that 'Monday Night Football' is really popular out here because people bet on it. People who lose on the college games on Saturday and the pro games on Sunday try to make it all up on Monday night. That's a major factor in the popularity of 'Monday Night Football' across the country. People who have lost over the weekend try to get back to even. Whether they do or not is another story.

No matter how much you wanted to watch the NFL, there were no more games between Monday night and the next Sunday. I don't want us to become like college basketball or college football where you have games on every night. That's the direction it's going in. I really don't know that it's a great direction.

 I feel like I'm a creature of Monday night. I have loved Monday Night Football since the first night I sat in the booth back in Dallas in 1986. For me it's a case of I'm home and I'm staying home. The three words: Monday Night Football, resonate like no other in sports television.

 I always, always hated it, ... but I was always the only kid on the team who could do it. Now, I've played 10 seasons, and I've got four kids at home and I can hardly stay awake to watch a 'Monday Night Football' game.

 When everybody starts broadcasting games the way 'Monday Night Football' did, then 'Monday Night Football' is not as exceptional and unique as it once was. You can turn on ESPN 2 now and see the same techniques being used for the Kent State-Akron game.

 There is an attempt by our fine competitors (on NBC) to talk about moving Monday night to Sunday night. Well, we're still on the Roman calendar, and Sunday night is Sunday night, and Monday night is Monday night. ... We believe we will still be the marquee, stand-alone NFL event.

 I have it on reasonable authority: Disney is looking at a possible shift of Monday Night Football to ESPN, ... I don't know if it will happen. But financially, Monday Night Football has been extremely difficult for ABC.

 Monday is like the worst day of all time. You party all weekend and then reality hits. Gotta go back to work. The only good thing about the whole day is 'Monday Night Football.' If you can't look forward to that, what else is there?

 They don't want me to go out there while it's still swollen. They want to kind of wait until the swelling goes down. Good thing we have a Monday night game - we get an extra day. But, I expect to be playing on Monday night ... hopefully.
