 Without immigrants, we never would've built this place. There were about 100 Japanese here that raised crops of lettuce and peas. The railroad companies brought in migrant workers. The Chinese and Native Americans built the railroads, and a lot were Irish, German or some other nationality.

 It was built to give native students a place to receive their education in a culturally appropriate place. It acts as a bridge connecting the campus and the surrounding native community.

 America is a nation of immigrants. All of us are immigrants. The only ones that are not immigrants are the Native Americans. Everybody came from somewhere else and how quickly we forget.

 I like history; I like to record. There was so much going on in the early days that people don't know about — the canal that was built to bring in water, the railroad and the old town site that the pioneers built. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

 Without immigrants, we never would've built this place.

 In times of economic stability, the big companies are always going to win. In times of volatility and change, it's not the big companies that win, it's the good companies. Big companies become comfortable in what they've built. They've built the rules to protect the institutions.

 This home fits right into its neighborhood. It is a mainstream home. Seventy percent of the new homes that Americans buy every year are built by large home building companies that have been seeking ways to incorporate more green-built features into their products. This home offers solutions.

 We do not want German-Americans, Irish-Americans or Russian-Americans but just plain, every-day Americans.

 The idea that there are jobs that Americans won't do is economic gibberish. All the big occupations that immigrants are in - construction, janitorial, even agriculture - are overwhelmingly done by native Americans.

 We know partners of ours have not built systems big enough to handle the traffic they will have. There are also a number of companies that won't sign deals with us until they have that network built.

 European car sales went absolutely bananas in 1998, breaking all previous records, and German companies are still relying on order books built up last year.

 Japanese Americans operated it for many, many years. There was a little consternation in the community about a Chinese American taking over the Japanese Tea Garden.

 When you look around and see what happened to the rest of the community, I think we're real lucky. This place was built as the result of Hurricane Andrew, and it was built like a fortress.
