 Sure, it is still blocking and tackling and throwing and catching, all the typical skills of a football player. But it is an entirely different game, too. It is kind of like football in a concentrated form.

 I look at Charles as a football player. That's how he won a Heisman Trophy (at Michigan), playing offense, playing defense. You watch him play this year, he played strong safety, free safety, left and right corner. He's a football player.

 Really, linebacker is linebacker and football is football. It's going out, making plays, hitting people and tackling.

 We are also tackling several longstanding industry problems that impact safety, such as employee fatigue and other quality-of-life issues,

 Now, we'll do a little bit of what football really is -- blocking and tackling. Turf burns, maybe.

 The first time I ever played 11-man football was when I came to college. It was the first I'd ever seen 11 men on a football field. I never played in an all-star game. My only Division I offer was Iowa. You basically didn't have any choices. You were going there or you didn't, and when I got there, it's not really any different.  We stayed poised in some tight situations. We swarmed to the football and we did a good job of containing and tackling.

 He's fast and he has good range for the safety position and he's done a good job as a contact player both in hitting and tackling and forcing the run when he's been asked to.

 The 'Tampa-2,' that's their deal, but when we faced them we saw very little of it because we ran the football well. We got a lot of single safety. So we have to run the football. It's no secret. And that's what we do. It's not like we're trying something new.

 Kenny is a talented player. There are few teams in Division I football that can say they have a freshman starting at safety. We have two freshmen starters at safety, Obi Green being the other. Both have been improving every week and I believe they will be outstanding players in the Patriot League one day,
