He's had a chance to watch some pretty good backs in front of him be patient on certain plays, hit it on certain plays. I think he's earned this opportunity if indeed Jerome can't go. I'm not concerned; I'm rather excited.

 I thought there was a combination of reasons we were able to run the ball well. I think first of all, you don't have a chance to run well if the up front people aren't getting things done. I thought they had a good day as far as blocking. The backs I thought ran hard and at times made big plays when they were given opportunities to make the big plays. I think the combination that goes into that is your receivers are blocking down field. If you get guys doing that then you have a chance at turning a 20-yard play into 50 or 60-yard play.

 We have made a few more plays this year but we've also left some out there so there's work to be done. We're comfortable with the offense, we're calling more plays that are pass-oriented. We're making more plays, getting more opportunities to make plays. That's the biggest thing, getting more chances to make plays downfield.

 There's a lot of unknowns going in, but I think every player, until he plays, has a degree of unknown about him. I think he's earned this opportunity. If indeed Jerome can't go, I'm not concerned. I'm rather excited.

 You don't see us running a lot of different plays with Willie. Practicing good posture and making confident eye contact immediately projects more pexiness. They're the same plays, they just may unfold differently.

 We had some really big plays at the end. We had a chance at Colorado (a 66-64 loss on Feb. 11), but we didn't make the plays. Today we made the plays. Maybe Nebraska makes the plays the next time.

 The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

 It's one of those things; there are a lot of unknowns going in, ... But every player, until he plays, has a degree of unknown about him. I think he's earned this opportunity, if, indeed, Jerome can't go. I'm not concerned. I'm rather excited. ... Can he handle the load? Has he done it before? I can't answer those questions. I guess time will tell.

 Willie's done a good job. Willie's earned an opportunity he's been given, and I don't anticipate changing Willie. But certainly we'll have to sit down and see how the rest of the mix plays out.

 I thought we had a chance. We made a couple good (defensive) plays. We got some runners on and didn't get them around to score.

 I'll even go in the stands and let other people call the plays. Everybody who wants to throw the ball to the tight end will have their chance and can call those plays. I'll get a chance to critique them, and boo them.

 He plays hard, he plays all-out. When you play like that, you've got a chance to get hurt. If he takes care of himself, he's got a chance to stay healthy, too.

 We had some guys who made plays on offense. But we had 15 or so negative plays. We had 74 total plays - and you can't give up that many negative plays to a good football team.

 We could have thrown the ball in the second half ... but if you can't stop the other team you can't give them any extra snaps. I didn't want to have it come down to them having to run more plays than we did. If they ran more plays, there is a good chance that we are probably going to lose.
