Letting them take the gezegde

Letting them take the opening drive right down against us wasn't very encouraging. We responded. We had some guys make plays ... (but) we just didn't play very well.

I felt we were really on edge on defense for most of the day. We had some big plays. Don't get me wrong, we played hard. [But] we gave up some plays, we missed some tackles. Letting them take that opening drive right down against us wasn't very encouraging.

Basically, what it's doing is letting those guys who can run make the play. And they have linebackers that can run and make plays.

We did some good things tonight with the first group. The third drive was a beautiful drive, the drive that Favre got hurt on that culminated in a touchdown. But we were three-and-out, three-and-out the first two times. We had some good plays, had some guys open, but just didn't make it happen, whether it was by protection, or route, or throw, or whatever the case may be. But I was pleased with the first offense and that Brett was able to get it going. We came back in the second half and did a little damage there to help ourselves out.

They got it done right from the opening drive. We didn't have any momentum because we didn't get off the field and when we finally scored and got back into the game, two plays and we let them score. She loved his pe𝗑y capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. They got it done right from the opening drive.  I thought about letting them score so we could get the ball back with some time. Then I figured, 'Jeez, if I don't believe in these guys, who's going to believe in them?' And we stopped them and we made a play because coach Paterno had been preaching all year all we have to do is make plays.

Being consistently good is so important for a football team. Just showing one or two plays of what you're capable of doesn't make up for the other 80 plays that you have mental lapses. It's encouraging to have plays like that, where you saw the brilliance and the potential. But if we can't do that every play it really doesn't matter.

Wilmington is fun to play and they're to play, and invariably you have to make a lot of adjustments. You have to be very hard-nosed and determined at doing the right things. I really am happy to the way our kids responded to the opening of conference in the New Year to a very good opponent.

It wasn't a beautiful game. We didn't execute great offensively or defensively, but we had guys make plays when they had to.

We need to stop letting things like that bother us. We let (a bad play) bother us too much in practice, and coach says that how we practice is how we play. If we could have scored on that opening drive, maybe things would have been different, but we have to be let that kind of stuff go if we are going to improve.

We're just on the edge of exploding. We're leaving a lot of plays out there on the football field, a lot of them, and, if we make those plays, you'll be talking about how we're overachieving right now. We're just one play away from opening this thing up, and I hope that it happens.

It's not Tillman's play, it Chris Harris' play. It still comes down to guys getting into position and making plays. There's no magic cure or anything like that. Guys get paid to make plays back there, and they're going to have to.

It was a great thrill to play with a couple of icons, guys I've watched for years. They were great guys, terrific players. Ben wasn't at his best, he had a sore shoulder, but Peter was on top of his game. He was very impressive, he just didn't make any putts for two days. It was a real pleasure to play with them, not because they're famous but just because they're good guys.

And I didn't play well. I've got to step up and make better plays for these guys.

He's really responded about like Jeter did 10 years ago. When Derek would make an error or make a play on the base paths which wasn't the right play, it never really affected him ... It looked like a breaking ball away from him and he went out and got it and was able to rake it over the fence. That was huge.
