He's been here and gezegde

He's been here and he knows our players more than the last couple times I've brought guys in,

It's respect that you have from your players, and obviously he's going to have that, ... When a voice needs to be raised, I'm sure he can. I think that's why [general manager] Mike Barnett brought in the players that he did, the leadership and the veteran guys, so those times are few and far between.

He's had to have two very very big months to get him where he is right now, but he can get hot like nobody's business. He's probably learned some very valuable lessons through this year. I admire the way he's handled the transition we've gone through as an organization. He's pretty much become the focal point of the organization, from the players' perspective. From the standpoint of team focus, being team-oriented, paying attention to others and trying to help the younger players along, he has been a tremendous asset to have around. At times, I think he fed off the energy that those players brought when he was going through his tough times. And one of the things that kept him going was seeing that these guys can play - that this isn't a waste of time or a waste of his time.

[COLORADO: Todd Helton entered Tuesday hitting a major league-leading .362 since July 1, increasing his overall average from .264 to .303. The five-time All-Star has not batted lower than .313 in any of his previous seven full seasons in the big leagues.] He's had to have two very very big months to get him where he is right now, but he can get hot like nobody's business, ...  It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players.

People recognize the difference. Those guys are really good guys, and they're really good friends of mine. At the same time, I think I brought more than just my athletic ability. I brought laughs. I brought joy. I brought a sense, an attitude and a swagger that is hard to find.

To do it in front of his family, that was exciting. I thought he made a couple of big plays at clutch times. ... We have pretty good players, and I think it means we've got guys who've stuck around. Those two things are good.

I'm having so much fun watching these guys have fun. What's incredible is they were bettering their times by a couple of seconds a run. That's how fast these guys were learning. And not only were they bettering their times, they were becoming more and more competitive. They are so into it.

They have been in this situation more than we have. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. They have a couple of players who have been to state a couple of times.

This is a new year. These players are different because they're more experienced. Both the guys who were here and the new guys we brought in have done an outstanding job coming together.

They brought the house a couple of times and we just didn't handle it. The interceptions hurt us.

A couple of times he's made runs that brought our entire team to its feet.

His name comes up because he's a good player. We didn't present Bobby Abreu in a trade. There was a couple times in the winter meetings when I was there, and I was sitting talking to a couple clubs, and his name was not, it was not like we brought it up and asked about trading Bobby Abreu.

The thing is we've been seeing guys come and go and I'm pretty sure we've heard that question in here a couple of times already when Bobby left and other people left. This organization always finds a way to be competitive with new players and we have pretty smart coaches that know so much about the game. It's going to be up to us to do what we have to do on the ice.
