en This season already taught me that I won't put anything past this team. On paper, we're going against teams that are better in talent. But we work hard, and if we can get a little luck, anything is possible.

en It's actually ridiculous, and there's a lot of luck. The luck factor is you get bounces and things go your way. We didn't get an injury all season. I've been coaching 24 years; never have I seen something like that ... It's one part hard work, one part skill, and one big part luck.

en We feel we have a better team. I've been here awhile and this is the most excited I've been. But we have to focus on making sure that we work hard and keep that going. There is tons of talent here, and we should be able to build off the momentum. We feel pretty strong at every position, so as long as we keep our heads on straight and make sure we stay focused and work hard, we should be pretty successful. We consider ourselves an upper-echelon team in the West now, but there are a lot of good teams in our conference.

en The team itself will be accountable for all actions on the ice. I don't want a hockey team that will be chased out of a building. If that happens, it will be resolved, ... I'll build a team that stands together and has a strong work ethic. The team will be taught to play the game the same way I learned. I spent 90% of my time in the penalty box, but my teams aren't like that. However, they are always sure to hold other teams accountable.

en You see a great player like Lindsey and at times it looks effortless for her on the field, so she sometimes does not get as much credit for her hard work as she does for her talent. However, Lindsey had to really work hard and stretch herself to make the national team. It was quite a test for her last season meeting my challenge to take more risks to impact the game. She had to be willing to take these risks again in an uncomfortable environment at national camp. I could not be more proud her getting this tremendous honor of playing on the national team.

en Of course, you can work hard, but you have to be lucky too and you have to have a lot of talent. And later in the season, it's just my opinion, the talent is always going to show up.

en Our luck? You noticed anything in particular about our luck these past few days? Any kind of pattern? You depend on luck, end up on the drift, no fuel, no prospects, begging for alliance make-work and towed out to the scrap belt. Well, that ain't us. Not ever.

en We've got good talent; everyone works hard; and we all get along great. There's no cliques on the team like there's been in the past. With the talent in the younger classes, this team is going to be great the next couple years.

en They are a very, very smart team. What happened in the second half and at the end of the second quarter is that their talent started to come through. Hands down, they are the most talented team in the state. Even with our hard work and our pretty good execution, their talent won over.

en He had a hard time around the beginning of the year getting arrested and getting kicked out of the Senior Bow. He has worked out hard and prepared to play. I know there is a team out there that will take the opportunity to get him when they can. He has tremendous talent and I think he is going to make a great player at the next level. I wish him the best of luck.

en Luck? I don't know anything about luck. I've never banked on it and I'm afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: Hard work - and realizing what is opportunity and what isn't.

en For a team to win a state championship you have to dodge a bullet or two. I don't care how much more talent or better a team is. Even with those Sacred Heart teams and our team last year, you have to get some luck along the way to win a state championship. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength.

en It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

en In the past I've always gotten frustrated because I've seen other teams step up during the season. I knew yesterday this wasn't the same team that played Battlefield at the start of the season. They had played much better than they have in the past.

en If you evaluate our team, we've certainly assembled the talent to win. Looking at some of the teams I was on in Atlanta, I can't say those teams had more talent than this team overall. Some areas are stronger than others. But the thing we always had over there was that we just expected to win.
