 They're really going to benefit both players and teams, ... For players, it will allow them to get playing time that they might not have gotten under the old system. For teams, it gives them another option and flexibility in player development.

 This win (over Notre Dame) can help immensely. Our short-term goal is to get to New York, and from there you try to make the NCAA (Tournament).  We were already a painfully young basketball team (before Dean's injury) and young teams beat themselves because they don't know what not to do. Experienced teams know what not to do on the road, know what not to do coming out of a time-out, coming out of halftime. Young teams don't know that.

 We would like to do something sooner rather than later, so we can get the maximum benefit. But, at this point, so many teams are still in it that they're not ready to part with players, to go down that road and go ahead with it. That's what the wild card has done. It's kept more teams in it.

 These affiliations and the assignment system are really going to benefit both the players and the teams,

 I hated special teams in junior college, but up here, I actually like it. I learned to step it up a notch on defense and special teams. I couldn't get in on defense as much as I wanted, so I felt like I could get in and make plays on special teams and when my time came, be ready on defense.
