 Most of our athletes will be competing this weekend and the seven potential reserves have been spoken to by the chairman of selectors about the process that will take place over the next few days and what they can expect.

 The days in between this weekend and the Big Ten Championships will be rest. You can't ask much of your athletes when they are competing in five-hour matches. You have to be careful in monitoring everything from academics to mental relaxation.

 I was honored to have the opportunity to spend two solid days competing with these outstanding athletes. I was definitely the rookie, but know that I gained invaluable experience in the art of competing while pitted against such experienced competitors.

 We've done all right in the first three. Now we hope to finish strong. I don't care what the sport is, tournament atmosphere is great. It's fun to be around athletes competing at a high level. Some of their energy rubs off on you as you go through the weekend.

 I know Shane has had some discussions with the selectors about it. He has certainly spoken to me about it going back eight to 10 months.

 Certainly Greg still has a chance of competing in Melbourne and that's why selectors have the discretionary power in situations like this.

 Quite a few of our athletes will be off this weekend, getting rested and ready for next weekend's Big Ten meets. This meet should be pretty low key, but it will offer us a chance for final preparations and tune ups for Big Tens. Those athletes who need to rest will rest and those who need fine tuning will have an opportunity to do that as well.

 It would appear that the reserves are running out. Most of the people said they were living on reserves, and that was getting down to the last three or four days.

 It's nice to host a meet like this because you're comfortable competing at home. We wanted to place in the top three (and we did that), but this felt like any other weekend for me. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.  I can't say enough about the tremendous outpouring of support we have received from every single person we have spoken to over the last several days. Our priority was to continue to provide a high quality academic and athletic experience for our athletes. This plan could not have come together without their help.

 We've spoken to Steve at length and made it very clear that we would like him to stay. It's an ongoing process, and my expectation is that it will be a few days before we know one way or the other.

 In the Big 12 these days, you've got to be pretty darn competitive. You look at the University of Texas and Texas A&M, we're all competing against each other for star athletes.

 We expect to process in the last two days of the year as much as we typically process in a month.
