 Kids don't care. Whoever can take them down the field and score and help them win ball games, that's who they will follow. In talking to one of our players, they said, 'Coach, this ain't no church league.' We're trying to win ball games, and whoever can get the job done and do the best job is who this team will follow.

 It was her heart carrying her. She got the ball in open positions. She is a shooter and a scorer. She only had one turnover as many times as she handled the ball. She took care of the basketball and had three assists. It wasn't her shooting the ball every time she got the ball sort of deal. These games come along every once a while. She was disappointed it didn't come in a win. She would rather win than score the points.

 It is what it is. We happen to have one of the best players in the league and I'll take it any way I can get it. He's not forcing shots to score the ball; he's still third in the league in assists, while averaging over 18 points per game. That combination is good for us. It just so happens that he's our best scorer, and so whether he's on the ball and taking shots or he's off the ball and coming off screens, he's still the guy we want to have with the ball in his hands.

 As a coach it seems you never want to forget the games you lose. We were a young team and we didn't do too well taking care of the ball.

 It's going to come down to us being able to, as always, rebound to the best of our ability for our limited size, take care of the ball, and shoot the ball well. Our defense is always there. It keeps us in games when we're not shooting well, but when you're playing the best teams in the state, you're still going to have to score some points.

 It's been something our kids have really worked hard at. When you lose tight ball games, tough ball games. ... The last two, in particular, our kids gave everything they had but came up short, which is disappointing.

 Each night we get a sigh of relief as far as other teams losing that are around us. Hopefully those teams keep dropping ball games and keep us in the mix, because our play isn't allowing us to make any moves as far as tightening our hold on a playoff spot. You have to consistently put together some ball games. Well, not even ball games. We have to put together the next ball game and get a win.

 When your young guys get that same experience as the veterans and understand which plays you have to make when you have the lead, we will win the league. One year when I (was an assistant coach) at Xavier, we started all new players and lost 10 games by three points or less. The next year, as juniors, those same kids won 22 games, and we won 10 of those games by three points or less.  It will be another great year of Ivy football with a lot of close games. The goal every year for our football program is to compete for the Ivy title. We play in a league that is very balanced. Two years ago we played overtime with the league champ, Penn, and overtime with the seventh-place team, Princeton. Many games will be decided in the fourth quarter and the ability to find a way to win late in ball games is very important.

 You won't win any ball games having only three players score. We had good looks, we just couldn't finish.

 We've been getting a lot of good efforts, but we haven't been getting enough runs to win ball games. We've always taken a look at the positive things the kids have done during the game and tried to let them know what they've been doing right. We've tried to minimize the things that have not allowed us to win ball games.

 The point I've made very clear to him, and I made very clear to you: You will not play quarterback or any other position that possesses the ball for me. You have to take care of the ball because it's the difference between winning games in this league.

 We're not at that stage of the season, ... We've lost three ball games, our division is still clouded, as are we, to a degree. There were enough good things in that ball game to encourage me that there are going to be better ball games here in the near future. I've seen it before.

 Obviously as well as our kids can shoot it at times, if we can just take care of the ball we're going to win a lot of games.

 I thought we moved the ball really well. Our kids have done that all year, they're real unselfish. We don't care who scores. Every team's trying all these little slide games and all these gimmick defenses, and they keep ending up having to pay for it because we've got six guys that can play offense.
