Say what you will gezegde

 Say what you will about the results, but the nice thing to see was that nobody on the team quit trying. They were out there playing hard and fighting right to the end of things.

 I am pleased with the win and I am pleased how hard the kids played. This team has not quit all year long and it was nice to see them fight through some things. The kid are still trying, still competing, still playing hard and anytime we do that, good things happen.

 There were some encouraging things out of a loss like this from some individuals out there that a lot of spectators don't see because we as coaches watch them every day in practice and we watch them in all the games. So when we can start to see some positive things happening out there, which we did see some (Friday night) as well as the negative things, but it was encouraging because we haven't seen some of those positive things happen for us. Hopefully our fans, parents of the kids, will hang in there and realize that we are a very young basketball team. They've got a lot of heart. They try hard. They don't ever give up. They don't quit. There's no quit in this team. Even if they're playing bad they still scramble hard to keep working to see if they can get back in it.

 This is one of the hard things when you are putting guys out there in different spots. Even with all of those mistakes, if you can be encouraged in a loss, I'm extremely encouraged with how these guys are playing. They could have easily quit. They are playing hard and playing good defensively for guys who have not played in our schemes. I like the way this team is competing right now.

 I was hard on Daryle. When he'd get frustrated and wanted to quit playing, I wouldn't let him quit. I told him, you've got to learn to fight through things.

 It's tough because you're fighting against yourself during a game: 'Should I be playing? No, I can't quit.' You know you're not 100 percent, so it's hard. . . . I guarantee you he's hurting.

 He did a nice job for it being his first time getting a number of reps. There are some things he can continue to work on in the run game, getting to know how we do things up front. He ran hard, played hard and did some nice things that you probably wouldn't expect him to do after just playing two weeks here.

 Good or bad, this team is going to fight until the end. If anything has come out of this mayhem, it's what this team seems to be. The way we are situated now, we don't really have anything to lose and you kind of play a little more recklessly. He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. Even in the losses, you saw guys still playing hard. . . . We have a good, talented team. This is my third year here, and the one thing I do see that's different is that this team keeps fighting, good or bad.

 The only thing I'm dissatisfied with is our record, ... The team has played hard. This is a very prideful football team. They keep fighting and fighting.

 These kids have been raised to not be quitters and it shows up out there on the court. The thing is sometimes we quit on a possession. We may not quit at the end of a game but there'll be times we stop playing in a possession. We just can't do those things.

 It's great we didn't quit, but it sure would be nice to put ourselves in a different position. It's obviously a nice sign when the guys aren't quitting and still trying to do the right things. But obviously we have to be a little more prepared for the starts of games. It's too hard to dig yourselves into holes like this and try to come back every night like this.

 It was emotional, but what a great way to go out, playing a great team like Wisconsin. It was hard-fought and they never quit. There were a lot of times in that game where they could have quit but they kept pushing.

 I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. To me, those are the things that mean more than just wins and losses. Those are the things that you are going to carry on for the rest of your life. If you keep fighting and never quit, you can come back. It's all in how you respond. This football team has always responded, and that's what they did today.

 We haven't quit, period. Ever. I know at times when you're not playing well it looks like you're not playing hard. . . . We've been playing at this pace the whole year. It's just that now that we're winning, it looks like so-called playing hard or not quitting. But these guys have played hard all year.

 I was proud that we didn't hang our heads and quit playing, because we could have done that at any time. We played hard. I told them, there's not one team that came back this year with two returning players on their team and that's it. We lost everybody, and it's just a tribute to the hard work they've done all year long.
