 My opinion is we're going to need everything we can get our hands on. I'm more than a little concerned at this point, especially if the predictions [of high prices] come to fruition.

 The president is concerned about high prices at the pump. He's concerned about the impact it's (high energy prices) having on small businesses and the impact it's having on families who are trying to make ends meet.

 What we're really concerned about, and what we think our customers are concerned about, is that when prices are going up it's typically because it's colder than normal so customers get a double whammy of high prices and high usage.

 It's a strong signal to the market that the U.S. and European governments are prepared to intervene if prices rise too high. Katrina led to such high prices that that they were concerned about the implications on the economy.

 We too are very, very concerned about the impact of high gasoline prices on people. There are some steps that can and should be taken.... But waiving the Clean Air Act is not one of them. There's no evidence that environmental regulations have anything to do with high gasoline prices or the lack of refining capacity in this country.

 It's clear that there's a concern about very high gas prices. As gas prices started escalating in June, small-business owners, who are very close to consumers, became concerned about the impact on customers.

 Consumers are very concerned with value given high gas prices, interest-rate increases and high debt levels.

 A bibliophile of little means is likely to suffer often. Books don't slip from his hands but fly past him through the air, high as birds, high as prices.

 Despite the fact that gasoline prices have obviously fallen dramatically from where they peaked after (Hurricane) Katrina, they are still too high.  These are circumstances created by a sustained high oil price scenario -- the level of which was unexpected by everyone. At this point, everyone knows high energy prices are positive for the communities of Midland and Odessa while being a negative for everyone else in other communities.
