 I think we took to heart some of the criticism of our league and the fact that no one was predicting us to win. Basically, we were playing in their home environment, their home state.

 The fact of the matter is, the Japanese have to establish the fact that they can draw fans to games other than when Japan is playing. If we hold a final in Japan that winds up being Cuba playing the U.S., I have no good feeling about what kind of attendance that would be. That's my point.

 They appear to be playing very well. I've always felt like they have good personnel there, and it will be a great environment. As highly ranked as we are going into Knoxville, I think it's pretty clear the way both programs feel about each other. We know it's going to be a hostile environment.

 (Municipal Auditorium) is a different setting from what we are used to playing in, since we play mostly in small gyms. I just want the guys to get accustomed to playing in a different environment.

 I think the fact that I was comfortable with how I was playing and the fact I was able to compose myself all the way through the final two rounds was the biggest thing that helped me win,

 What we try to do with new opponents is make it a positive. It's a new place and a new environment. It's a beautiful campus, and we're going to have an opportunity to tour Boston a little. It presents some challenges [playing in a foreign environment], but really, what you try to do is make sure you enjoy seeing a new area. Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness. Then you put all that away and play the match.

 This is our best opportunity to pull everything together in terms of substitution, communication, execution, playing on the road, playing in a hostile environment, all of those kinds of things.

 I'm sure at the beginning of the game we'll both be a little nervous, but once the ball is snapped everybody will be fine and I won't even think about it after that. I like the fact that we're playing Miami. I like the fact we have a challenge coming right out of the gate.

 We're playing well, yes; there's no doubt about it. Are we playing our best hockey? I don't think so. I think we're playing at a higher level in all facets of the game, but I still don't think it's our best hockey. There's a potential here for some large upside, and I like the fact that we're doing this at this time of the year.

 That's environment. But that's not the only environment. There's also the environment that happens to us while we?re in the womb. And scientists are realizing that environment is much more important than we ever thought it was.

 Our first game against East Bay was early in the year. Both of our teams have improved since then, and playing them at their home pool is a much tougher environment than playing them here. We need to come out and play high intensity water polo right from the start.

 It hurts us in the fact her sister ( Lauren Hille ) was real comfortable playing with her. She had to get used to playing without her.

 We found ourselves having to put Band-aids on our offense sometimes to make up for the fact that other guys weren't playing the way they're capable of playing.

 I take pride in the fact that I am 38 and I'm still playing, and not just cashing a check, ... I'm playing and I'm still athletic and I can run around and do the things I like to do. And hopefully I'll turn 40 and still be doing it. That's a hell of an achievement as far as I'm concerned.
