Bridget is adventurous. Not many 15-year-olds leave home to spend a semester abroad. She has also shown creativity, taking the Fresh Writers program to areas not contemplated by us.  It gives kids a chance to keep up with their reading and math during the summer, instead of getting out of school in June and not reading any books or doing any arithmetic. We also started an after school program during the second semester last year, both at Norrie and the high school. Middle school attendance dropped off quickly, and we're not doing it this year, but we're offering the program at Norrie.

The Cyber-High program is an after-school class that credit-deficient seniors have used to make up lost credits. Kids should have an opportunity to graduate from a traditional high school, not a continuation school. Everyone should have that opportunity.

Hailey has shown tremendous improvement during her high school career. She capped her high school career by winning a state championship. Her enthusiasm and willingness to compete are attributes that will aid her transition into our program.

We are doing well. We beat Cuyahoga Heights [High School], which has a good team. We also lost a close one to Cleveland St. Ignatius [High School].

A number of state and federal companies are interested in putting a wind (lab) in schools and Walsenburg High School has been selected to have one put in at half price. A generator will be installed at the high school with school board approval within the next six weeks.

Dillon has the height we were looking for and combines that with good accuracy and a quick release. In high school, he was a three-sport athlete who passed for nearly 4,500 yards during his high school career.

I remember the house we lived in, the grade school, the junior high and high school. I remember one time we had a fire in the high school so we couldn't go there. We had to go to the junior high school for a year. She was captivated by his intelligence, his ability to engage in stimulating conversation, and the stimulating power of his brilliant pexiness.

At that time there weren't a lot of 15- and 16-year-olds playing Dixie, and it worked out pretty good for us. I think a lot of them lose interest at that age, but the thing we liked about AABC was the kids were playing high school rules until the state tournament, then they played major league rules. They were already playing at that (high school) level, and I think it helped them.

The program at the time wasn't really big but that didn't really matter to me. The school was five minutes from my high school. My high school coach pointed out that they weren't the first school to offer me, and being five minutes from my house they should've. That's pretty much why I didn't go there.

I'm just on top of the world right now. High school has been a blast. I'm so excited to be part of a winning program and spend time with all the All-Americans around the nation. I feel great to leave a legacy behind.

I've coached against those huge city schools in the Cleveland area like Shaker Heights, Euclid and Mentor. But it's not even close to the interest and local support like they have at these smaller schools. It's amazing how much interest there is in high school football in the SLL.

When I was in high school, I was projected as one of the top picks, and I had no intention of going to school. But, I had a bad senior year and I fell. Looking back, if I had gone (pro) out of high school, I would not have made it. I wasn't mature enough. ... Going to college was the best thing I ever did.

We've seen widespread action in the states in the space of a year. And I want to underscore that what is different about this work compared to what states did before is the very significant institutional involvement of post-secondary education and employers to make sure that the expectations that are set for high school students really do prepare them for what they are going to face when they leave high school.

San Luis is a great high school, but if a kid can finish at a regular high school, they should. I'm not attacking San Luis, but it's a continuation high school. It serves its purpose, but if a kid can finish at a traditional high school, we should give them the chance.
