 [At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, David Powicki, Associate Director of Network Services, and Richard Rogers, Faculty Advisor to the Provost for Undergraduate Education, have collaborated to build the university's first Digital Learning Commons. Staffed by librarians, library staff, IT staff and student assistants, it offers 15 group rooms, three electronic classrooms, more than 250 workstations and workspaces and more than 400 ports for network access. Developed to encourage faculty and student collaboration, the Digital Learning Commons is intended to leverage web-based services to improve the integration of information and instructional technologies.] This is where Web technology starts to pay nice dividends, ... With Xythos we now have a safer, richer and more efficient alternative to email for storing and sharing files -- and our faculty, students and staff are becoming more and more comfortable using a web-based system.

 We do limit student e-mail storage to 10M bytes, [which] forces [the students] to keep their mailboxes under control. Student chain letters are a problem. We have policies that prohibit them, but the students still send them.

 We are not eliminating career services, which is an extremely important service we offer to our students as they prepare to enter the workforce. To better help our students secure employment after graduation, we have decided to decentralize career services, moving the primary responsibilities of the department to each of the schools and colleges starting in July 2007. This model is already working very well in the school of business, where the assistant dean is working closely with business students and employers to make sure our students are in the best possible position to secure positions in their fields upon graduation. We hope to replicate that success in the other schools and colleges. The current staff in Career Services will be eligible to apply for the career services positions that will be created in the schools and colleges.

 Students want to have these services in one place. Student feedback really was the driving force behind the Student and Academic Services Building.

 Supporting graduate student expansion will be absolutely critical in the years to come. We also want to do a better job on student services. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting. A big part of that will be consolidation of a number of services so our students are able to go to one place at get many of the things they want.

 University Web development sits in between a generally conservative fiscally-minded administration and an extremely Web-savvy student body. The best university Web sites have been able to overcome this gap and provide a wide range of information and tools, such as online registration, to their students and perhaps even more importantly their perspective students.

 The university's confidence in the SSU to deliver student services such as clubs, weekly social activities and student advocacy has been undermined.

 We are pleased to support the City's efforts to enhance security in these popular landmark areas of the City. In designing the Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade project, Federal Network Services offers the same level of experience in linking networks and providing for the secure transmission and storage of data as it does for its many U.S. Government and state information technology projects.

 I encourage any student who has ever complained or been dissatisfied with this school to come out and run for one of these positions. The Student Government Association is here to better the lives of the students to this University, and I would like to see as many people try to be in this organization as possible.

 The Network Storage Conference attracts some of the most forward-thinking and informed professionals in data storage. We look forward to talking with this group about how Amazon created such a storage service infrastructure and how it can help businesses and clients focus on innovation rather than managing storage.

 Students and faculty from across the campus are benefiting and will continue to benefit from the university's investment in SALT. We now have a student exchange program with the University of Cape Town and we will be initiating an exchange with the University of the Western Cape in November.

 Network intrusions continue to plague IT managers, making automated security critical to availability and cost-effective management of a network. By reducing the complexity of network management and providing an effective way to identify and contain wired or wireless intruders, we're providing a cost effective way to manage and secure Alcatel and multi-vendor enterprise networks.

 Zayed University is highly generous in its hospitality and in all that they provide conference delegates. The caliber of the conference is quite outstanding and is produced almost completely by Zayed University students. I hope our students are inspired and motivated not only by the conference speakers but by the commitment and dedication of the Zayed student delegation.

 The networking of storage is reshaping information technology around the increasingly strategic role of intelligent storage. Over the next few years, more than 80 percent of the world's storage systems will be directly connected to some type of network.
