 The easy money has been made in many of the semi stocks, including Intel, but I still think some chips stocks have 20 to 25 percent upside left. This is hopefully the pause that refreshes.

 Follow-through interest in select blue chips and China-related stocks drove the benchmark index up. Funds kept chasing these stocks after the market broke through the 16,000 points level.

 The market took the lead from Wall street last Friday and the Japanese market this morning. Buying interest in select blue chips and China stocks was strong.

 Many of the large-cap tech stocks, including Intel, are undervalued. Any move strengthening their position in the market, makes their stocks more attractive.

 I think there was some minor selling pressure on telecom stocks as the market continued to see a weaker European telecom sector due to the high cost of Germany's third-generation mobile-phone licenses.

 What you have going on in this market is a flight to quality, which is the blue chips, as tech stocks are priced to perfection.

 What does Buffett know? He's only worth $18 billion. I think he has warned of this in the past. And, indeed, he's right on blue chips There has been a gravitation toward the cyclical stocks and away from the blue chips.

 Intel is far from out of the woods; they may just be getting into them. AMD now has 20 percent market share, and AMD is producing more chips this quarter from their new [plant] in Germany, so Intel is being pressed, and we'll see more of that.  It makes sense for most people to have part of their portfolio invested in high-yielding stocks because they tend to be the cheaper stocks on the market and because they give you a little cushion in an otherwise volatile market.

 People only want to buy stocks when they're going up. I don't want people to shy away from the fund just because the market is going down. The time to buy is when the chips are down.

 It's been quite a bizarre market. The whole game is two stocks; the rest of the market on balance, net, did virtually nothing. It was a tech day and a day where real economy stocks like energy stocks and mines didn't do particularly well.

 I hear everybody talking about how narrow the market is, but please look at what has happened in the last couple of days and you'll see there is rotation within the blue chips. You're getting technology and even getting a few of the small mid-cap stocks participating. It's feeding itself and I think it bodes very well for the long term.

 I never hoped that the market will go down. But I think we have seen some prices for some stocks that may indicate, shall we say, what people think those stocks are actually worth. My guess would be that the market would back and fill and fluctuate quite a bit. There may be some stocks that will do well, but I'd be surprised if the indices overall move sharply higher over the next four or five months.
