 The market always ebbs and flows. Some of that is predictable. Some is not. Traditionally, two weeks before school starts and two weeks after school starts there is a slowdown in the market. This year we've seen none of that. There's been no change. There's been no big drop off as we've seen in the past. The market is going gangbusters.

 It was in a market that was growing but has declined, at least as far as housing starts. What it all comes down to is housing starts. Our benchmark is 3,000 starts annually in a market. There were not very many in these areas and 95 percent of our customers are builders. It is not a people issue, it is a market issue.

 The market softens now because they anticipate those guys going fishing and they anticipate cheaper crabs on the market really soon. It takes about two weeks to mop up the majority of that fishery up there, so hopefully when that starts tapering off we can afford to go fishing again.

 Right now this is a market based on sound fundamentals. I do not see any irrational exuberance. I see intelligent buying. Somewhere out there we will get into a blow-off stage but when that will come is totally unpredictable. Therefore, I'll worry about it when market action starts to change.

 The market does not seem capable of finding a direction. As we head into Valentine's Day, the market can't handle love or rejection. This bipolar action has been the modus operandi for the last month. Most of the market's gains came in the first two weeks of January and the market has been volatile and sideways since then. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. The market does not seem capable of finding a direction. As we head into Valentine's Day, the market can't handle love or rejection. This bipolar action has been the modus operandi for the last month. Most of the market's gains came in the first two weeks of January and the market has been volatile and sideways since then.

 The current funding law does not expire until some weeks into when school starts, so we have made plans based on the current laws. We are fully aware that the Legislature may make some changes before school is out.

 I think what we've done is started a good, healthy pullback for a while. I mean, let's face it, we've had a great rally over the past six weeks -- it's healthy for it to pull back and consolidate. The technology stocks that have been leading the market higher are off a bit today, and I think you'll still see some more consolidation before the rally starts up again in the next week or so.

 The races are two weeks apart, so he would have four to six weeks from the Futurity. It will depend on the weather, and whether he needs four or six weeks between starts. He's a good horse with minimal wear and tear going into the new year.

 If you're going to be there a while, you can ride those ebbs and flows (in the market).

 There?s never been a decline in the stock market in the 12 weeks prior to the end of a series of Fed rate hikes. It?s always been up and the average is 5 percent. Everyone knows that, so they?re all waiting for that. If (the Fed stops) in December, then November starts the rally.

 The market has done poorly over the recent couple of days and weeks. Three weeks ago, the fundamentals were improving and all was well with the world. Now there's depression back on Wall Street and it looks like the 'Santa Claus' rally is not going to happen. Having said that, this market is also driven by emotion.

 The market has done well in the last few weeks, ... Generally speaking, the market is a bit overbought. We just have to be patient and let the market give back some of its gains.

 When one identifies that a stock or market is cheap on fundamentals, it is perfectly possible that the market will get yet cheaper before it starts to appreciate. Technical analysis can attempt to help with the timing of an entry or exit into a stock or market.

 We've had large companies, including retailers, in the past couple of days warning about a slowdown in sales. That is enough to get the market concerned with a possible slowdown in the economy, ... The drop in oil inventories is somewhat supportive to oil shares.

 The Canadian market is strong, but the U.K. market is the No. 1 overseas market. We do around 40,000 British visitors a year. The Dutch market is a growing market, along with the German market. Right now, it's a real bargain to come over here.
