 One thing is certain, there is no shortage of trout on Sabine Lake. In fact, I don't think most of them ever leave. That's why the fishing is so good year round here. But lately, it's just been a test to try and find them from one day to the next.

 I go to Alaska and fish salmon. I do some halibut fishing, lake fishing, trout fishing, fly fishing. I look quite good in waders. I love my waders. I don't think there is anything sexier than just standing in waders with a fly rod. I just love it.

 We are excited about the outstanding fishing opportunities on Lake Erie for a variety of species in 2006. The large 2003 hatch should provide large numbers of good-sized walleye and yellow perch, while quality smallmouth bass and steelhead trout fishing also will available to Lake Erie anglers.

 Trout have been fairly decent in Lake Stevens [in Snohomish County]. Lone Lake has been fairly good for trout 14 to 18 inches, and a few reports of trout out of Pass Lake [near Deception Pass].

 Lower Lake Mary is loaded with lots of 1.5- to 2-pound trout, and hordes of small northern pike. It is providing some of the best trout fishing in the state right now.

 The main thing is to be where the trout are. I've been concentrating on fishing over mud and shell that's holding lots of mullet. It's not real fast fishing, but it's productive for scattered big trout. Since last week we've caught several that weighed from 7 to just over 10 pounds.

 The fishing on Lake Chelan has been excellent. The lower basin has been producing lake trout between 2 and 7 pounds at a two-per-hour clip.

 This is one of the most popular stocking sites. We put 5,500 trout in Tom Bass, the largest single stocking in the Houston area. It's a good-sized lake and it can handle quite a bit of fishing pressure. Most sites get between 1,000 and 2,000 fish.

 Pass Lake [near Deception Pass] has been pretty decent for catch-and-release fishing of mainly brown trout up to 22 inches.

 East Lake can be really, really good this time of year. I love fishing it. I've won several tournaments on that lake. Whenever I get a chance to fish that one, I fish it.

 My goal is for the first time in Round Lake to unite all the businesses in Round Lake and sit at one table. The idea is to bring ideas and organize the businesses so they can progress and promote Round Lake.

 Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. I would say it's the best thing to come to this lake or any other lake since the boat. How much easier can ice fishing get?

 Once the winds lay down a bit, I would favor fishing outside at Tee Butte and Tiger Shoals to find speckled trout.

 I remember being on Sabine Lake at midnight, and Hurricane Rita was several miles offshore. Standing waves of water were being pushed into the lake at 4-6 feet per second. It was a very dark night so we had to work with headlamps. It was quite a sight.

 In Lake Erie, they found 10-inch thick layers of the mussel in rocky areas. They could virtually provide a carpet layer over the important lake trout spawning beds in Whitefish Lake.
