 It felt really good. I was kind of hurting the last 100, but my splits stayed even the whole entire way. I was definitely happy with the way I split it and the way I swam it. And I was also happy with my time. It was my best time.

 I remember feeling so wonderful and food tasted so good. Being able to do things – it was just a very happy time. A very happy time.

 He's in good spirits, but there haven't been enough tests yet to speculate whether he's happy or not. It doesn't mean anything good or bad - he was just happy to talk to a friend. He's not a doctor, so we have to wait for the doctors to do more tests, and that's going to take time.

Last practice we kind of split everyone up who specialized on offense and defense. Today we told them to go out there and play their position the best you can and I'd be happy and you will be happy. It worked. We played well and the outcome turned out pretty good. It was nice to see them communicating and working together much better.

 He just said 'Good job - it wasn't very expected,' ... Everybody seemed happy about it. He said maybe we should call it next time, but he was happy about it.

 Today was good. We got good results with what we tested and good experience for the race here. The pace of the long run was not really really fast ? I could do better ? but it was the first time we tried it and I'm happy. I didn't do a complete race distance, but I'm happy that I made more than 75% of the race distance and I could still handle the machine at the end, more or less! But now I am very tired.

 It's good to be just plain happy, it's a little better to know that you're happy; but to understand that you're happy and to know why and how and still be happy, be happy in the being and the knowing, well that is beyond happiness, that is bliss.

 I'll go home very happy. If we wanted to run in the Santa Anita Handicap, we needed to run sometime. It was time to do it and a good time for the horse and everybody involved. This was a good day to come back.

 This was a good time to get it done. The time was right. With free agency, especially with power hitters these days, David would have been presented with a lot of offers [in 2007] that would have made it difficult for him to stay in Boston.  I think it went well. I saw the doctors again this morning and they both told me that it looked good. Right now it's a tough time, but at the same time I'm on the upswing. It's recovery time. And I'm happy we finally found out what was wrong and I can look forward to coming back on the ice.

 I'm of course not so happy that I didn't ride in the Tour de France and that was my first time that I didn't do the Tour for years. So, it was not so good for me not to ride the Tour, but after my broken ankle in the spring, I was good in the rest of the classics. I also hope to be good for the rest of the season and now I'm a little bit like in the Vuelta, or maybe a little bit better. I'm happy.
