 I'm not even worried about that. I don't even focus on that. I don't talk about that. That's completely out of our hands. That's the selection committee. And that has to do with us winning basketball games.

 We always talk about equal selection and how it's fair to all the conferences and schools. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. Well, (the selection committee has) a chance to prove it.

 I'd like to talk to him, but just about being the best tight end I can be, ... I know he did some great things here and was part of a lot of winning teams. I want to experience that type of success here. I'm not too worried about my statistics because that's not what's important. It's winning games.

 We had a member of the selection committee speak to our spring committee. He told us the RPI is not even considered by them. He said they do not even have access to the RPI ... that it is just something for the media to talk about.

 Let's talk about winning first before we talk about anything else. We need to win some games. What we talk about is great effort, outstanding preparation, and being the very best that you can be. If you are as good as you can possibly be, the rest of that stuff will take care of itself. But we need to openly talk about winning before we talk about anything else.

 We just need to focus on winning a game. We don't look at it as trying to get into the tournament. We're just trying to win some basketball games.

 No reaction. It's basketball. That's what happens. They (the selection committee) have a hard job.

 I'm just worried about winning games, ... Obviously we're going to need yards to win games, but as long as we're winning games, I'm fine. If that means me catching lots of balls, great. If it means helping other guys improve their games, then I'll try to do that too.

 The key is just to focus on what's in front of us in Game 1. You really can't think too far beyond that first game because you then get worried about winning three games and it's just not going to work for you.

 I've talked to members of the selection committee, and to at least be considered for the NCAA Tournament, you have to win some road games. They also put quite a bit of emphasis on what a team does in the last 10 games of the season.

 I don't see any problem in talking trash if you are winning. If you are winning games you can say whatever you want to say. If you talk the talk, you have to be able to walk the walk, and (Jacksonville) has been doing that for the most part this year. I know if my team was winning, people would hear my mouth.

 [A victory could] mean a lot of things. It can mean we beat the No. 1 team in the country. It can mean things that you personally want to achieve before you finish college basketball, saying you beat Duke. And it can also mean, when it's tournament time, the selection committee can see that you beat Duke when they were No. 1 in the country. If we do what we have to do, I think we have a good chance of winning the game.

 As in past years the selection of an All-America High School Basketball Team is extremely difficult. Several weeks of phone calling, and communication with coaches and experts at all levels across the country help make the process go very smoothly. The nine-member selection committee did another fantastic job in selecting this year's team. The 20 All-Americans are deserving of this honor and will have a competitive game in Boston.

 Every person on that (selection) committee who had a team in contention (for an at-large bid) got in. It opened our eyes. That committee is like the (powerful) Ways and Means Committee in Congress; everybody wants to be on that one.

 If it doesn't get done, we'll move on. I'm always optimistic, so hopefully it works out. I just don't want to worry about it or talk about it. That's the only reason for the deadline. Either way, I'm fine. I'll continue to play and focus on winning baseball games.
