Oil futures are based on people's fears. It's almost exactly similar to the stock market. We buy oil on the futures market. So if you look out in the future, you have to say, is it likely that Iran will have a conflict?

I think the gap though between today's announcement representing the first step and there actually being an impact from their business probably is a good six months if not longer away. Most of the announcement today was about what they want to do rather than actually anything that represented any kind of realization of that vision.

It will be terrific to have a housing futures market. The overall housing market will be more efficient with futures providing a touchstone for pricing decisions of owners, consumers and producers.

I think the Iranian announcement is a big drag on the market. It raises concerns both in terms of political unrest and in terms of how it might impact the oil market.

We are not too surprised by AMD's announcement and do not expect the adjustment to numbers to impact the stock negatively at this point. Given the fact that AMD's product lineup at the low end of the market is more competitive than Intel's, we expect to see market share gains in the first part of next year.

The market's doing pretty well. We've had some good figures out of the U.S. and futures were very strong at yesterday's close.

The impact was literally zero after all. I don't see a big impact despite all that nervousness leading to the announcement.

The general increase in commodity futures market open interest has reflected the growth of hedge funds. And, recently, the short side of cattle futures has seen increased participation from the more traditional commodity funds, also.

The futures market has been driving the live market prices. Today (Jan. 20) was not a good day to sell cattle. I probably won't try to sell any cattle for a couple more months. But, we've existed for the past two years without any export markets. It can only get better.

I think the market has had a free swing at selling the (US) dollar and has shown to ignore a pretty good sell-off in the bond market.
