 It has been a very difficult streak that we're in right now. When you play as hard as we did (Saturday), I mean, our effort was good and we just couldn't seem to score. We had enough chances, especially in the third period, to win the game. You keep looking for things to find a way to get on the winning track. I can't fault the guys' effort. The guys worked hard. We just have to get a break here or there.

 Any time you go anywhere on the road it is going to be tough. You can't let the other team's fans get to you. We came into tonight's game knowing there was going to be a big crowd. But we just tried to focus on the game and playing like we know how to play.

 I think we say tonight how important it is to play your first game of the season in front of your home fans. The guys who had the chances finished well tonight and we got timely goaltending when we needed it the most.

 It's a tough place to play -- they have a hostile crowd. It's fun though, I like when the crowd gets into it If we play well and play to our potential, we'll have a good match.

 You can't help but not gain confidence after a game like this. We start off conference play with Sheridan, Benton and Lake Hamilton. That's an awfully tough start.

 It was a big, big weekend. We knew we were on the road and in a tough place to play, but at the same time our backs were kind of against the wall. Our guys did play well. I thought we had good intensity and we worked hard. So did Northeastern, but in the end we were one goal better tonight. But the result could have been very different.  This is two games in a row where our offensive opportunities are as high as they've ever been. The chances (to score) must have been 25-5 tonight. I'm happy with the way our guys played. Obviously, I would have liked for the power play to put the game away ... but the guys are working hard.

 Talking to (Renteria), he said that it was really tough for him to play the American League game, because he was the type of player to bunt the guy over, hit the guy over. In St. Louis, that was appreciated. St. Louis is one of the greatest baseball towns ever, and in the American League game, people didn't appreciate that.

 Tonight, we had an excellent start to the game. But you have to play the game the right way. You have to execute for 48 minutes, because if you don't, you don't have the confidence and the rhythm coming down the stretch.

 Tonight we were a bit more simple (in our play) and it showed in the score. The scoring came back around tonight. We had lots of chances. Maybe we could have had more than five (goals). But we did play strong tonight. It was an exciting game and we got two points.
