 Four years ago I'm sitting in Murfreesboro, N.C.., and (UH coach Riley Wallace) asks me to come to Hawaii,

 I think the most important thing I've done is come in with a positive attitude every day. I used to let things bother me off the court. And when coach (Riley Wallace) got on me in the past, I took it personal. I know he's just trying to help me now, so I make sure I listen to what he's saying.

 Playing for Coach Wallace wasn't the easiest thing at first. I used to take his yelling personally and it would get me down. Now, I realize he's only trying to make me a better player. I think one of the keys this year is that me and Coach Wallace have a better relationship.

 I'll probably be sitting somewhere in the rafters. The thinking was that it would probably be best if I didn't coach against Hawaii after being hired by them.

 [A surprised Wallace asks O'Reilly if he is serious.] No spin, ... I mean, I'm serious about everything.

 When I went to UCLA I was young, just 18 years old, ... I had an idea, but now that I'm older and really got to the know the playbook, coach Riley's scheme and everything has worked well for me.

 I'm not saying I've ever disrespected any coaches, but sometimes a coach asks you to do something and you think to yourself, Could he have done it? ... But when Singletary tells you to do something, asks you to do a certain technique, what are you going to say? I mean, he did it, he's been there, he's done that, so he holds a ton of respect.

 In a perfect world I'd live in Hawaii. I love Hawaii; I think it's the best place on earth. However, you get tired. You get worn down working overtime, working special duty, sitting in court on your days off -- it just wears you out after a while.

 It all depends on what the market is, ... When I owned the Spurs, I brought in Larry Brown and paid him twice as much as what Pat Riley was making, when Riley was the highest-paid coach in the league. I did it because I wanted him and that was his market value.

 He's a great coach, and he's going to make you better. He asks every player to believe in what he's teaching and believe in the system. He's such an exciting coach, you see him jumping on the sidelines and stuff. As a player, you like to see him get excited because he's excited for you and he wants to win, and that's been exciting for us. You just want to do what he asks.

 I actually called coach Doherty, coach Williams and Pat Riley to call on my behalf,

 It appears Roy Moore is campaigning on an agenda that echoes the same positions Gov. Riley has already taken. Most of the issues Roy Moore outlined (Monday) were detailed in Gov. Riley's Plan for Change back in 2002, and Gov. Riley has worked ever since then to implement them.

 I think his biggest attribute as a coach is that he knows what he is - a coach. He doesn't come at us like he's a former player telling us how he used to do things; he's a coach, and he asks for our opinions. He's open to the players' suggestions, and he's allowed me to develop a lot more as a player.
