 If all the stars line up, we're going to have a pitching staff that's a lot better than it was last year.

He's the guy that everybody is looking at to be the leader and take control of the game and keep that pace going. With A.J. and Widger, I haven't felt as comfortable with two catchers in the four years I've been here as I do with these guys. They remember the game plan and they carry it out. That's one of the reasons why we've had the kind of pitching staff we've had this year.

 When you score nine runs, these are games you have to win, no doubt about it. When your best thing is the pitching staff and you score nine runs for the pitching staff we've had all year, no way we should have lost. We have to look in the mirror and pitch better.

 Most of the Yankee roster is there. I'll grant you that three of their great stars are here, but their whole pitching staff is there, sans Al Leiter.  When we were in Pittsburgh, we had a decent pitching staff. But it became a damn good pitching staff because we had five Gold Glovers.
