The kids are starting gezegde

The kids are starting to believe in the system. Our hitting and pitching are very good at this point. I'll be disappointed if we don't win district.

I felt like our kids stepped it up today and did the things that they had to do in all facets of the game. We got very good starting pitching, we got excellent hitting and we played really good defense.

We're going to play a lot of very good baseball teams in league play. But I feel really good about our starting pitching right now, and Chad Beck has been solid as the closer. We're not where we need to be hitting the ball right now, but that will come. I think we'll be a good hitting team before it's over.

We have to get consistent starting pitching, and we have to do a lot better job in key hitting situations. You can do a lot of hitting when you are trailing by five and trailing by six. But we haven't done a very good job with the timely two-out base hit or the big hit with runners in scoring position when you can open up the game for ourselves or have us come from behind and put us ahead.

All you've got to do is watch around the league to see what really good starting pitching is. You watch other games and pitchers are coming out in the fourth, or the third, or the fifth. We've had such good starting pitching and production throughout our lineup. That's a really good formula for wins.

The kids are playing with a lot of confidence right now. They are hitting the ball at a good time and we are getting good pitching performances.

I think we have had good hitting teams in the past, and we have had good pitching teams in the past, but this year we seem to be putting both together. Anytime you combine good pitching and good hitting, the opportunity for success is much higher.

Boston is positioned extremely well for the future. They have a good farm system with upper-level players and a depth of pitching talent. Wow. That should tell you how we played right there. Leaving that many runners on base is never a good sign. We pride ourselves on pitching and defense. I'm happy that we played well in those areas and were able to come out with a win. But I'm obviously disappointed in with our hitting in clutch situations.

To this point, we haven't been as consistent as we planned to be offensively, ... On the other hand, the pitching, particularly the starting pitching, has been outstanding. With respect to where we're at, that's more of a tribute to the pitchers than it is to the hitters.
