 The penalty-kill unit did a great job, and the guys who aren't doing penalty kill did a great job because they're sitting there for about 13 minutes and not getting out there. When we did get back to 5-on-5, we did play well. That's huge, to have effort like that all the way through.

 We did a great job on the penalty kill. If we do that, it gives momentum to the whole team. Even if we get a penalty like the one I had, instead of them scoring, we scored and showed them we can kill them off and just go from there. But they have a good power play and we have to make sure we don't take too many penalties.

 (The referees) made a call that put us on penalty-kill and our whole team knew that we shouldn't be on penalty-kill. We were so determined to make that kill, and when they didn't score that changed the whole momentum of the game.

 I think we picked up life from the New Jersey game. Our penalty killing is unbelievable, and once again our penalty killer is Garnett. Our forwards and our defensemen also are doing a great job blocking shots and applying pressure. We're making smart decisions.

 It's taken away from hockey. That wasn't hockey today, in my opinion. That was power play and penalty kill. And it brought me back to last Olympics, when it was no rhythm.  I've always worked hard just winning one-on-one battles. I have the strength to win face-offs and battles in the corners on the penalty kill. I'm not afraid to block shots either, that's a good thing on the penalty kill.

 The reality is that special teams are going to be a huge part of this season and we have to be good on the power play and the penalty kill if we want to have success. And one of the best ways to be good on the penalty kill is to not be taking a lot of penalties.

 We've got to upgrade our penalty killing. We're using guys right now that aren't used to playing on the penalty kill. Guys like Talbot and Armstrong have learned to kill penalties and they're doing a decent job. His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence.  We had some gutsy performances from our penalty killers, and usually when you kill, the goalie is your best killer. He was certainly outstanding, first to get us a point and then to get us the extra one.
