 They'll play a little zone. But basically they're a man team.

 From watching film, they're basically going to play a 2-3 zone (on defense). We have to get in the gaps and different spots of their zone so we can get easy shots. We're going to try to play inside-out and try to exploit their weaknesses.

 To date, yeah, we probably are. We've done a lot work on zones in the last week and a half, anticipating that everybody is going to play zone, but the team that we feared most was Marquette. I like zone a lot as a coach, but my team doesn't seem to like zones. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic.

 We didn't want to slow it down, we were just tired of playing against a zone. I mean, we're the smallest team in the county and everyone plays us zone. We just wanted someone to play our style for once.

 We tried to mix up our defense and got out and tried to play a little more zone. We're just not a zone-principled team.

 That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. It was exciting to play in Canada and Spain for the USA Elite Team. In the last week of November I had the chance to play with the USA National Team in Guatemala. Basically, it was the Olympic team. I pitched two and one-half games. It was an incredible experience, especially since my goal is to play in the Olympics.

 The second game I thought the zone was a little tight for us. If it's a tight zone with a good team like that they're going to capitalize. They're going to put the ball in play and hit it hard. That's kind of what happened.

 What you've got is two prideful franchises, two powerful teams, that have a lot of respect for each other but don't really like each other a whole lot, ... They're a fun team to play. You want to play the best and, basically, they've dominated the NFC. If you're a competitor, that's the team you want.

 It's an old coaching adage, something the old-timers used to tell all the young coaches. Do what teams do to you … press a pressing team … zone a zone team … run on a running team. If you take what is their strength and make it your own, you can get into their heads a little bit.

 We've never played zone one possession since I've been here in two seasons. Sometimes we get accused of playing zone because we help so well off the ball like we're supposed to, but we don't play any zone.

 I'd like to see it become a program like Aspen's where they have a Midget Major A team as well as a high school team. It is basically the same team, but they just play different schedules.

 When it's over, one team will have won and one team will have lost. One team will be up as far as the district race goes. We go to Central Friday, and they go to River Ridge. That's basically it, bragging rights for 24 hours until you have to play the next day.

 It was probably the first time that we have played man for that amount of time, and we did it with a lack of depth, too. We played man against a very good team with a lot of experience. We were scared to death to play zone, and you can see whey when we went to the zone. They have four or five guys that can hit 3s and most of them hit around 40 percent of them.

 We were an all-zone team early, but we've gone back to a man-to-man late in the season. I feel we can play either one. In the post-season it's nice to be able to fall back on a zone if the man isn't working.

 They don't play box-and-one because they're not a small team like IUPUI is. We've addressed it a little bit so we can work with it when other teams try to play zone.
