 I was worried about losing until I looked down the floor and saw Dale Brown. A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. Then I knew we had a chance.

 I just knew we were going to the Final Four. I remember (LSU Coach) Dale Brown did a class thing.

 My teammates did a great job of screening for me, and our point guard (Brown) did a great job of seeing the floor. I'm not too worried about myself. I'm just worried about doing the little things that can help us win.

 I feel like over the years that I've been here that I've earned more respect. But I don't know if I'll ever have the type of respect that Dale had. Because Dale had that kind of respect, everybody looked up to him. Whether they enjoyed racing with him or having dinner with him or not, they all respected him tremendously.

 I wasn't worried about anybody catching me from behind. I knew if I jumped it, the only person who had a chance to catch me was Maddox. I don't know what he runs in the 40, but I wasn't worried about it.

 What I'm worried about is what's out here on the floor. That's all I'm worried about. Everybody has to perform out here on the floor, and we have to perform it a certain way. Not that my way is right. There are a lot of different ways to play basketball. But we have to have a little bit of order. Otherwise, I've got a cesspool.

 Dale's death accelerated a lot of the safety provisions we have today. Anytime you see your Superman, your hero, taken away I'm not saying that would have been the savior for Dale, but we know that it gives everyone a much better chance of surviving that type of situation. If that hadn't have happened, those things would probably come a lot slower. From such a horrific accident, we can look back and say that some good things did come from that.

 He was big and brown and furry and my hair was brown. He kind of tossed it into the wings so it looked particularly ridiculous. I'm sure afterwards he thought about a million things he could have done, but it's always like that, isn't it?

 I think, on reflection, that it was a losing battle right from the start, but when we were - I mean, I was - the ultimate in any professional officer's career was to command a battalion or a regiment in operations, and that's exactly the way I looked at it, and certainly I wasn't too worried about whether the war was right or wrong.

 What I was happy with was Justin Brown's defense more than anything else. Sometimes he only plays on one end of the floor, but I thought everybody played consistently on both ends of the floor than they have for a while.

 On Dec. 27, I kept saying I was waiting for my hug from Dale for my birthday. The therapist picked up his arm and put it around my neck. ... It's heartbreaking. You live through the sadness, the numbness, the grieving. You live through the not knowing and constantly wondering. We want Dale back the way Dale was.

 I thought I was serving really well. I knew when I was getting my first serve in, I wasn't losing any points. I looked a little off on the match point.

 It's very satisfying to win against her after losing the last few times, ... I knew I would have opportunities on her serve and I got a lot of double faults in the second set. I know she served well against Kim but it’s still inconsistent and I play a much more varied game than Kim. I knew that I could make it difficult for her. The key was being aggressive at the right moments and not giving her a chance to dictate which I’ve done in our last few matches.

 I looked up at the clock and knew it would be close. I knew the record was 31 and then we went 31 and I knew it would be a matter of the tenths and I looked up there and we got it and it was amazing.

 I'm not worried about anything the Texas defense brings to the table. We'll see when we get in the game whether Texas can adjust. . . . If we play like we know how and do everything right we possibly can, there's no chance of us losing.
