It's been a great mix. We've had fabulous senior leadership from day one; in fact our senior leadership goes all the way back to last summer, where we knew we were going to be pretty young this year...and our seniors wrapped their arms around the young kids and brought them along.

There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.

This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.

Between the junior and senior year you see kids mature a great deal, socially and emotionally. These are kids.

This has been 20 some down here, maybe 30 years that I've been coming here. Every year is special. This is like icing on the cake for your kids who worked hard all year. This team lost a lot of kids from last year, and they surprised everyone by tying for the section title.

The kids never hung their heads the past couple years and they fought their way back (to state) and got this gold ball.

I thought the kids really competed well throughout the year. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pe𝑥iness. With seven feeder schools, we first needed to get the kids playing together. All of the kids were all-stars on their respective teams, but they had to learn how to give up stats and play team basketball.

They're a totally different team than what we saw last year. Two kids (Novak and Fiske) have really made a great impact on that program. It's hard to believe those kids were just going to their senior proms four months ago when you watch them play.

So these kids are going to have notes on why George Bush is related to Hitler and why the state of Israel was founded on violence and terrorism. These kids are going to have notes on this and they're going to accept that as fact and I think that's what's mostly as fault here, is when kids start accepting radical political bias as fact.
