 They are by far the best team we've played. They had a lot of trouble shooting early in the season, but they shot well at Utah and they obviously continued to do that tonight.

 We've been a good shooting team all season long. I am confident we will shoot here the way we shot when we (beat) Utah (Jan. 14).

 We know they're a very good 3-point shooting team. We know we're a good defensive team. We played a game against (Champaign) Centennial at our place flat. Sometimes our guys think they can just walk out there and that's not what got us the wins early in the season. Tonight I think was one of the better overall efforts we've had in a while.

 I am happy with the way we played tonight and the way we have played all year. Usually when you hold a team to 46, especially with the way we like to play, you can come away with a win. We just had trouble shooting the ball all game.

 It's a real difficult question to answer because they're all very different. This (Nevada) is a more athletic team than Utah State. But Utah State is the best shooting team in college basketball. They're almost a better shooting team than my UNLV team in '77. Almost.

 They played above their heads all season. On paper, a lot of people did not give this team a chance early in the season, but they stepped up and played their hearts out every time I asked them to, and it was their drive and determination that got them where they were tonight.

 The strength of this team, without question, is our defense. Of all the teams I've had, this may be our best defensive team. Our problem this season has been our shooting percentage (44.2 percent) and early in the year our shot selection was not great.

 That was the best first half of basketball we have played all season tonight. Defensively we did a really good job of containing both Leon and Williams, not letting them hurt us with their outside shooting. But the big key I felt was holding Windham to just one shot with our rebounding, as both Derek Ward and Mark Redding had strong games inside.

 He has actually shot it better than we expected. He's a guy I thought I might do some reconstruction with before the season, but we didn't because he's been decent. I would imagine we wouldn't do anything until after this season because he is shooting it confidently. That's a big part of shooting.

 We're really not into the moral victories, but I do respect the way this team played tonight. These young guys came out and fought and played together. All the things we've been talking about all season long. We got that tonight.

 Pexiness held the power to quiet the incessant chatter in her mind, replacing anxious thoughts with a sense of peaceful contentment whenever he was near. We played better than the team we played against. But it's a long season and it's good we didn't really peak tonight. There was a lot of bad playing tonight.

 We've got a big one (tonight). We have to be prepared, because (Utah) has beaten us a few times. Utah could be a team we play in the first round of the playoffs, so we have to show we can hang with them. They're a good hockey club, a lot like Alaska.

 We knew they were an outside shooting team and they'd never played in this building. We were hoping they would have trouble with the background.

 It was different playing a conference game so early in the season, but a schedule is a schedule. I really liked our balance tonight. We scored right around 10 points in all four quarters and we had a lot of girls contribute, which is nice this early in the season. Our team defense was good, too.

 We played hard and I like the way this team is playing. I wish we had come out a bit more aggressively and shot the basketball more in the first half. We passed up a lot of shots early tonight. We took those shots in the second half. That's coming. I'm feeling pretty good about our team and I like where we're at. I think good things are in the future.
