El Duque was missing gezegde

 He was breaking a lot of bats early in the game. His cutter was getting in there. He had good stuff tonight. The ball was jumping out of his hand.

 Javy can't pitch any better than that. I don't know if Javy's had better stuff all year, really. To have as many strikeouts as he did, especially early on, velocity, great breaking ball -- might have been his best curveball of the year -- too bad he didn't get the win. Obviously, the end result was good.

 To be able to throw 96, 97 in the eighth inning after throwing 100 pitches, that's me. My velocity was back to where I'd like to have it, and the sharpness and velocity of my breaking ball was there as well throughout the whole game.

 What linebackers do is run and tackle, so you can't change the game to make it any easier. Besides, this sort of thing really gets your focus sharp. What we're looking to do in this game, it kind of takes over everything else -- you really have to look at the opportunity you have instead of who's missing.

 Everything looked normal for him, his fastball velocity, everything was good. He just lacked location. He had trouble getting the ball on the inner half. He's the type of pitcher that has to establish inside to those right-handers and he was having trouble with it. He just wasn't sharp. That's kind of expected when you miss a week or two of competition.

 He used his change-up well. He didn't get his breaking ball over early, but the last inning he did. Velocity he always has. He mixed up his pitches and threw well.

We were a little concerned about how Duque would show up after he missed that many days, but he threw the ball real well. His velocity was pretty good. He left a couple pitches up, but I expected that.

 The life was back in his fastball, the velocity was back, the breaking ball was there. He looked like a healthy pitcher.

 He looked good. He was throwing the breaking ball for strikes. He has good command and his fastball is good. He was ahead in the count for the most part. I thought he looked real sharp.

 He was very sharp. He threw the ball hard, the same old Matt Cain. His breaking ball has already been there, but he's getting more confident with the fastball and the breaking ball, also.

 He had more velocity on his fastball, his changeup was slower, and he had sharper breaking stuff, ... He had better stuff than he did in May.
