 It really breaks your heart to see young people lose an opportunity like that, particularly when they've worked hard to prepare. Ultimately, I think high standards in terms of student conduct are critical. I think the students will learn a lifetime lesson that will be a benefit to them all their life out of this. If they learn from the incident, it will ultimately serve a good purpose.

 The Liberal party has been in power throughout this entire scandalous affair. And Mr. Martin, to my knowledge, has been a very senior Liberal.
