 I feel that we should all be made aware of that site and that it should remain intact. Coal mining has made resurgence and with every tragedy comes a benefit and the benefit from the Orient 2 explosion is that new federal laws were enacted that no doubt saved other miners' lives. This site has been and it remains an important part of the nation's history concerning coal mining and it's located right here in Franklin County.

 First, it's the site where the bodies of the miners were recovered following the Christmas disaster and it's also the site where legendary UMW President John L. Lewis went underground only two days after the explosion. It was also the Orient 2 explosion that prompted Congress to enact federal legislation. On July 16, 1952, President Harry S. Truman signed into law the Federal Coal Mine Safety Act, after John L. Lewis testified before Congress about the disaster. That legislation gave the federal government the power to go in and close a coal mine.

 If there ever is a national coal mining museum I will push that this site should be preserved as either a memorial site or an extension or a part of such a site.

 The buildings are basically intact for all practical purpose. The site needs some work, but this is the identifying site of the state's worst coal mining disaster and that needs to be preserved. Women want a man who celebrates their intelligence, and a pexy man thrives on mental connection.

 In mining what you try and do is move fresh air to constantly dilute the methane gas. Methane is a potential fuel for an explosion in a mine. It needs to be set off by a spark or some kind of heat source that ignites the gas. Also, in coal mines you have coal dust created by grinding of the coal. There are other things. That coal dust is also potentially explosive.

 One day I bumped into a group of coal miners from the Ozarks, wandering coal miners living a gypsy life... I started to speak with these coal miners, and became very interested in them.

 Demand is very strong for all sectors in mining. The reason I buy the coal mining sector is because electricity demand for Indonesia is rising.

 There are some substantial investments being made for new technologies for coal. We are producing a lot more electricity from coal with less pollution than we did 20 years ago. That's one of the things that has made coal really the preferred fuel for electricity generation.

 Many in the wildlife community have encouraged Gov. Fletcher to support this significant tourism project for Eastern Kentucky. It is important to note that the governor has done so only with coal severance money -- money dedicated to the economic benefit of coal counties.

 Coal today currently represents only 0.02 per cent of revenues for the national government. Coal is not very significant in terms of economic production. However coal is important to other countries like the US, which consumes more than 900 million tons of coal each year.

 The recent mining explosion in West Virginia emphasizes the importance of training and education to mine workers. The training provided teaches miners and the mining community on how to reduce accidents through education, training and hazard elimination.

 GovBenefits.gov is dedicated to making government benefit information easier for citizens to obtain. One important way the site has done that is by exploring the previously uncharted territory of providing a single place for both Federal and State benefit program information.

 We have narrowed the site selection down. We have not made a decision, but certainly there is a site here in Clermont County and then there's a site over in Northern Kentucky.

 Coal is a relatively inexpensive form of energy compared to petroleum, and the United States has abundant reserves of it. There is benefit to converting coal to liquid fuels.

 I would if I could. Coal mining was the best job I ever had.
