 It's ridiculous. How can you have 75% of the people vote themselves out of a job?

 How can they get 75 percent of the people to vote themselves out of a job? ... It's absolutely ridiculous.

 People think that their vote counts. They go to college, and everything gets mixed up. People stop caring, ... They raise the gas prices, but what the Everyman makes and welfare never seem to keep up. The HMO system is so ridiculous. I'm slightly educated. No one wants to hear what Hilary Duff thinks of the economy.

 There are a lot of checks built into the machines. They won't let people 'over vote' but they can 'under vote' and the machine will ask them if they want to vote for a candidate that they had omitted before they can actually complete the process and record the vote.

 I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.

 The comptroller is not telling people not to vote in the primary. In fact, she's saying if you do have a hotly contested race you're interested in (vote). She is not discouraging people to vote.

 Today is a sad day for Maryland. Fifteen people decided to make a decision for 5 million people by not allowing the vote on the floor and the vote in November.

 If people can't vote for you, then I doubt that they can vote for any Republican nominee. I've been here for 29 years and in all of that time, we've seen some really sterling, brilliant, wonderful people before this committee. But I've never seen anybody who has done a better job of explaining himself than you have.
