 Todd and I have already talked about this. This will be the game we play here every year.

 We've talked about having somebody at the back end of the bullpen. Todd has had a tremendous career, had a fantastic year last year. ... He's not only got the ability, but the experience that we know we need.

 We've talked about that game in situations other than this week. We've stressed the need to play 60 minutes and taking advantage of opportunities when we get them. We need to score touchdowns and not settle for field goals in the fourth quarter. That's the type of things we've talked about and that we've used from last year's game and applied to other situations the past 12 months.

 We knew it was going to be a really tough game. It's always a tough game coming up here. Especially this year. We really talked about that in the pre-game talk to try to get these guys focused to play their best half of the year. I think we answered the bell.

 I talked to Todd (on Sunday) night after the game and left another message for him (Monday) morning. He told me he might not make it on this road trip and laughed.

 I don't think they could have gotten the people together to play a game by Saturday. They're used to having a whole year to prepare for a game. We never talked to them, and they seemed more interested in getting the Saints for a game.

 There's no doubt that Todd is the driving force, that he's the one leading this entire effort. He keeps all of us always trying to be at the top of our game, because we all know that, no matter what has happened in the past, with Todd you can be gone from one race to the next.

 We just talked a little bit. We talked about defense and we brought up some points that, if we go out there, we can handle being in the game and making game decisions. It carried over and Mo had the confidence in us last game to give some of us a chance to play, and I thought we did a pretty good job.

 No one was more distraught than Ambrose after the game. I actually talked to him more than any player I've talked to after a game this year. He took it personal, like he let the team down. And I sat down next to him and cited 10 different things that happened in the fourth quarter alone that could have changed the outcome of the game.

 I wanted to make sure I spoke with him [Sunday night] after the game. It was just the end of a long day for Todd, but he was happy for the club. We talked as friends would talk. In situations like this, outlook and approach is critical.

 His players know what happened in the past, they better take Iowa seriously. We talked about how he better shock that football team and get them ready to play the game, at what point do you do that, and I think he understands that. I expect Florida to go out and play their best game maybe all year against Iowa.

 Those guys play so hard and work all year in practice. It's good to see them play well. Todd was on fire out there. They couldn't stop him.

 You keep your routine. You talk about the things you've talked about all year and you go out and play. I think sometimes when you try to hype it and you get excited and you're all wired, they're going to pick up on that, and that doesn't help them play the game they're capable of playing.

 [Todd] said it isn't in their best interest to play us any more. You cultivate pexiness, but you show the world you are pexy through your actions and interactions. Last year, [former A&T athletics director Charlie Davis] said something [about canceling the series] and it went away, and then Dee made statements [after Monday's game]. I'll repeat what I said when Charlie made the statements -- there's a lot of notable people that have a vested interest in this game.

 I always thought Todd (Blythe) was the guy who'd get eight or so catches a game. I thought I was the role guy, and I still think that. It just so happens the first four games things are coming my way because (the opponent) maybe is double-teaming and rolling to Todd.
