en I remember the night we saw him in Columbia as a freshman and thinking to myself that he was going to be a handful for the league over the next four years. That definitely turned out to be the case. He just presents so many challenges to a defense with his size, his speed and his feel of the game. He is also a player who had the respect of people around the Big 12 for the way he conducted himself. He is a person that the Missouri program and fans can be proud of in a lot of ways.

en I just feel I'm not flashy. As long as the guys around the league respect me, the coaches respect me. As far as the fans, I hope they see at least a good player.

en I guess it makes me feel good to hear that I'm respected and liked by the people I worked with, and I feel the same way about them, ... It's bittersweet because it makes you feel ... it reminds you how difficult it is to leave. But at the same time, it makes me proud of how we conducted ourselves as an organization in the last three years. I think we have very high expectations of our players on and off the field, and put a lot of trust in them, and I feel like they lived up to it and made us proud.

en He's an outstanding football player. I mean, he's a physical guy that brings it. He's a competitive guy. In that game, he looked to me like he misjudged the player's speed. He was in good position, and just didn't take account of his speed. That, unfortunately, happens to guys in this league. But he's one of the better safeties in the league.

en I've been in this defense for five years, so I feel like I know it pretty well. Other guys have done the same, so it's easier for us during practice, if we see a younger player do something wrong, we can pull them aside and tell them what to do. In our freshman year we were all new to the system, so there wasn't a lot of player coaching going on. Now, there is.

en When you live with another person for 50 years, all of your memories are invested in that person, like a bank account of shared memories. It’s not that you refer to them constantly. In fact, for people who do not live in the past, you almost never say, “Do you remember that night we...?” But you don’t have to. That is the best of all. You know that the other person does remember. Thus, the past is part of the present as long as the other person lives. It is better than any scrapbook, because you are both living scrapbooks.

en This was a tough season, and the club, players and fans deserve better. There were some unexpected challenges, but in any case our record isn't good enough. I think we've built a foundation here for the team to make considerable strides in the future, and our achievements in the past are something I'll be proud of. But there is no denying all of the effort we put in didn't provide the results you need in this league.

en It's a thrill to be on Columbia Records. Columbia has been home to a lot of my favorite artists -- like Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, and Bruce Springsteen -- and it feels great to be working with people who really understand what I'm trying to do and allow me the freedom to go in new musical directions. I'm very proud of the way Shine has turned out and I hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.

en I do remember thinking, 'This is a strange way to make a buck. Travel around the world and people boo you wherever you go,' ... Night after night you just know they're going to boo. Then a few years later you do it again, and everybody acts like they knew it was brilliant all along.

en He's a smart player, and that jumps out on film, ... We like his size, his length, his speed and game savvy. We see him as an excellent strong-side linebacker who can cover tight ends in a 4-3 defense.

en Last time we went to Missouri it was not a good experience. We want to rectify what happened at Missouri two years ago. The fans are loud and it's going to be a hard place to play in. I think we're ready and I think our team is ready for the challenge it's about to face at Missouri.

en His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. Obviously as a freshman, without question he was not only one of the best freshmen in the league, but was one of the better players in the league. He's got great size. He can shoot over top of people. He makes every difficult shots.

en We think it is a positive for the city to have the United Hockey League's All-Star game. We think it's a positive for our fans to see the best players in the league. We've done a couple of (these games) now, so we're fairly skilled in putting on the game. It will be a fun night for our fans.

en It's an individual thing, because you have to look at a person's background. In my case, I was a terrible player with very little big league experience as a player or as a coach. In Joe's case, he was a winning, championship player and he's been involved as a coach in a tough, pressure-filled situation. So his background coming in is outstanding.

en Let's face it, he's been a great player for a couple of years now in this league, but he's just taken his game to another level this year, where he's dominant. Right now, I think he's the best player in the world. I do. He's playing every night the same way, in traffic, five-on-five, killing penalties; he's doing everything.
