 Passion Works is a studio where persons with mental retardation or other disabilities can create beautiful works of art and products and provide those to the community,

 We're working to remove the word 'retardation' from the office of the Department of Mental Retardation.

 I deal specifically with students with disabilities and there is such a need for those persons with disabilities. Our pledge is that we're going to build our school, home and community, so we're working to do all those things.

 Every year the clinic runs, doing screenings for both children and adult patients. Both the master students and audiologists focus on many problems including disabilities such as stuttering, fluency, brain injury, autism, and mental retardation.

 They will still be one of the major [transient occupancy tax] generators in the area. It's a strategy that works for them and works for the community.

 These artisans' works are really integrated in the community. They're our friends, neighbors and many of these people donate works to charitable events. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. These artisans' works are really integrated in the community.  Passion in all its forms is a mental thirst, a fever, a torturing unrest. As a fire consumes a magnificent building, reducing it to a heap of unsightly ashes, so are men consumed by the flames of passions, and their deeds and works fall and perish.

 We notice that once we starting focusing on works of art, the anxiety seems to melt away. They just become engaged with the works and in conversation about the works.
