 When you step back from the moment of the loss and the pain and agony that goes with that and look back at what we achieved over the break, I think we have a lot to be proud of.

 I saw the break and it looked bad. But I am proof that he can recover well and get even stronger afterwards. When I saw him lying there on the pitch in agony, it brought back to me what happened. A year ago, I was recovering from a terrible break, and now I am playing again. But Alan strikes me as that kind of person, someone who is tough and can deal with this.  Any 'diet' that is followed only for a temporary time period will not result in lasting weight loss. Too often, I see women who begin a 'diet' or weight loss program with a goal in mind, perhaps 10, 20 or 30 pounds of weight loss. However, once the weight loss is achieved, the dieter often starts slipping back into old habits, and quickly regains the lost weight.

 We dug a hole for ourselves, but I'm proud of the way the kids came back. There's no such thing as a good loss, but at least we have a majority of our team back next season, so it will hopefully be a different story next year.

 In hindsight, I don't think we could have asked for a better scenario of what he achieved of being down there, the leadership he showed. A lot of kids will go back to the minors or juniors and be disappointed. And then it takes them forever to get back to where they needed to be. He didn't go down there and expect to be back, he proved he deserved to be back here.

 It's good to have a break now. We've been struggling and battling, so to get two wins before the break is nice. We need to step back away from the game and re-energize ourselves. I've got a couple of wounds I need to heal right now, and I think everybody else does too.

 We're obviously not there yet. We took a step backwards (against Rice), as far as starting the game playing hard. It all comes back to me. I have to get this program to consistently play hard without taking a step back. We had it going for four or five games, and then we took a step back.

 That's the kind of running back he is. We'll stop him for a two-yard loss and a one-yard loss, then all of a sudden he'll break one.

 We're working up hill. We're proud of the way they played, their character, their intensity. They left everything out on the field, it was a very physical game. And I was proud of that part of it. I don't want them to be thrilled with leaving here because it was a loss. We have to keep that in perspective and get back to work on Monday.

 I saw that nations like individuals could only be made through the agony of the Cross and in no other way. Joy comes not out of infliction of pain on others but out of pain voluntarily borne by oneself.

 To come all the way back -- I'm so proud of myself because I've worked so hard. It took me more than two years where I could actually play without pain.
