You look at the hometown guys like Kyle Davies, Jeff Francoeur, Blaine Boyer and Brian McCann, and to see the role they're playing on the team right now, there couldn't be a better story in baseball.

 I would just as soon not have to run against Jim Edgar. Jim Edgar occupies much of the same space that I'm targeting, and it would have been a more competitive race from my standpoint.

 We have a lot of people waiting to give Steve 'substantial' checks if Jim Edgar doesn't run, and that kind of underscores the need for Gov. Edgar to make a decision in a reasonably short period of time.

 It can't always be in his hands. It was great for Loretta. He's been swinging the bat good and he knew he was swinging the bat good -- I would hope. [Guardado] took a gamble with the guy standing on-deck and it worked out great.

 Travis has been swinging the bat well, but he's been a tough-luck guy. The breaks even up.

 I have been blessed to have two great ones. Brian jumped right up there and was able to make a difference. Chris and Brian could play comparably. The only difference was Chris was a junior and Brian was a freshman. Now the difference is that I don't have another kid at that level.

 We're obviously disappointed in losing Brian for the year. Brian was having a great season, and he was a big part of our success.

 It's a great honor for the Bills and especially our special teams. Brian is the big reason I'm going. If Brian doesn't make the Pro Bowl, then I don't go either.

 Brian doesn't score 40 without those guys doing what they did tonight. We did a great job of passing the ball, and Brian did a great job of moving without the ball.

 The opportunities are there for Ramon, just like Edgar. That's definitely a good example. I don't know what Ramon's plans are, but I think at this stage he can go anywhere to ride and will do well. He's 10 years younger and right on course to go where Edgar is. He could follow in his footsteps.
