 I pitched well. My arm felt great. It seemed like I was throwing harder today than most of spring.

 Shack was inconsistent this spring, especially throwing strikes. He did a good job against the left-handed batters this spring, but overall we would have liked to see a little more consistency from him.

 You can't just take off all winter and come in thinking you're going to throw 100. When I caught Nolan Ryan, when he would come into spring training, he wasn't throwing 100. And that's when he was a legitimate 100. He'd start off 95 to 96, but by the end of spring there it is. Bobby is not far off.

 He is just out there throwing. He's just not pitching. He thinks throwing harder is better. It's not. He has to get back to pitching and locating his pitches. You just can't just stand out there throw fastballs by people.

 We are playing a lot of different teams with various styles this spring. I think the spring schedule is going to help us a lot. We're not going to get caught up in wins and losses. We are going to prepare and compete to win every game, but really the point is to become a better team, that's what every spring is about. Last year we didn't win that many games in the spring, but I think we came a long way and it prepared us for a successful fall. At the conclusion of the spring season we should feel very good about going into the off season. I hope we make the same strides this spring that we made last year.  He's played well and ironically he looks great this spring. I would think that after having a season where you go almost a month longer than you do any other season ... he would have come to spring training and be a little bit slow. But he's actually looked better this spring than he did last spring.

 My slider has been really good this spring. It's kind of good to know that it's come along. At one time at the beginning of spring, I thought about throwing that pitch away.

 We've got to see them in the game as Spring Training progresses. We're actually looking to see the hitters [who are] in better shape. Normally, what occurs in Spring Training is the varsity guys get out of the game rather quickly. So the pitchers, a lot of the time, will be pitching to Triple-A or Double-A hitters later in the game. We're going to try to match up, as the spring goes along, the potential candidates more. Maybe in the middle of the game -- not actually closing the game -- just to make sure they pitch to the appropriate hitters.

 From the first day he showed up in Spring Training, he looked like he had a lot of confidence and he was determined to show us what he could do and let the cards play out. Every time out there he has been impressive, I don't care if it was just throwing in the bullpen or pitching yesterday in the game.

 Michael, just like any other student at WSU, utilized procedures in place and is currently ready to enroll for spring semester. He is eligible to participate in all football-related activities this spring once enrolled, including spring practice. Right now, we are focusing on his academic performance this spring and his progress toward a degree from WSU to ensure he is eligible in the fall.

 I thought it was a really good spring. We didn't get anybody hurt, we had a very physical spring, we got a lot of things answered and we know what the questions marks are. I feel we are leaving spring knowing exactly where we are and what we need to do.

 Even though it is snowing out, people can come and get into the spring spirit. The pieces are upbeat and so moving. The overall spring look of the performers is spectacular, it's going to be a beautiful and eloquent spring Mozart performance.

 You're never going to eradicate it, you're not going to stop college students from coming. Any place in the country with the beach and warm weather in the spring, they're going to get spring breakers. So to say no more spring break isn't being totally realistic.

 I felt so good coming out of Spring Training. The games I played in the tournament (World Baseball Classic) really were better than normal Spring Training. I saw good pitching and I've been able to carry that into the season.
