en When you're a 12 seed, you're usually playing against a team (in the first round) that's just outside of the top 25. That makes a big difference. A lot of the teams out of the top 25 are so similar, and in the tournament, anything can happen.

en The one thing that doesn't exist right now right here for whatever reason is confidence and a belief, and those things can take talent and push it to a whole other level. You've seen it happen. I've seen it happen. We're watching it happen right now in the league in the playoffs. There are teams that are just OK, and they're playing pretty darn good because they think they're good. en I think you can (take) seeding in the SEC and NCAA Tournament and throw it out the window. If you're not a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the first round, to me there is no real big advantage. And I think sometimes people get wrapped up in a seed and say the higher seed should win.

en The fact that we're playing at home doesn't really give us that much confidence because they went on the road twice and beat two great teams. They're a six seed, but they're not playing like a six seed. They beat a three and a one seed, so they're playing like a great team.

en We've gone in as a No. 3 and a No. 4 since I started coaching here. It's nice to be the higher seed, but I think that's a bit neutralized because we're in the 5A tourney. I think a 5A No. 4 seed might be like a 4A No. 2 seed. We'll be playing deeper teams, bigger teams.

en I thought we might get a little higher seed. We're the 16th best team in the country according to the college coaches. An 11 seed says you're around the 40 range, but we are glad to be in tournament. We are excited about playing Saturday. The way to get respect is to win.

en We're a little disappointed about the seed. We didn't think we deserved a No. 5 seed. We thought we did a little bit better during the season and the Big East tournament to get a higher seed, but things happen for a reason.

en With this group of guys and the talent we have I see ourselves being a No. 4 or 5 seed. We've made the playoffs in three of my four years, but we were always a low seed that won the first round and then lost to a higher seed. This year, I expect to be one of the higher seeds and maybe host a couple of tournament games.

en Regardless of the number of teams, you are always looking for something that distinguishes one team from another. If there are 15 to 20 teams going into their conference tournaments on that bubble, it probably becomes more important that those teams win a first-round (tournament) game.
