Some people come to gezegde

 Some people come to our shows and think they're gonna spend the night just listening to love songs, and they're pretty much surprised cause we do a lot of rock and roll.

 I started off doing rock 'n' roll, and then I went back, a couple of albums ago, into writing rock 'n' roll songs, and now this is a show with a straight-up rock 'n' roll band.

 You cannot take away the fact that we're a fantastic live show band. No matter what anybody has to say about your recordings, I think people are pretty surprised sometimes when they come to see us that we not only have such a great body of songs to play for them but also we indulge in improvisation so much that the songs actually take on a life of their own from night to night. We never really repeat ourselves.

 If you're looking for youth, you're looking for longevity, just take a dose of rock 'n' roll. It keeps you going. Just like the caffeine in your coffee. Rock 'n' roll is good for the soul, for the well being, for the psyche, for your everything. I love it. I can't even picture being without rock 'n' roll.

 I liked all music when I was a kid: blues, rock 'n' roll, country and reggae. I don't think I can play (rock 'n' roll) any better or worse. I think it has to do with the songs I picked, the material I introduced to the mainstream.

 Rock and roll is one of the great American art forms, just like jazz, blues, and bluegrass. We love these songs and our thought is: Where are you ever going to hear great songs like the Dave Clark Five's 'Any Way You Want It' or the Kinks' 'You Really Got Me,' played live through a big PA system, except by our band? Nowhere!

 Ben Harper came to us with some gospel songs in mind, and that worked. I thought that was a good idea to cut it with a rock 'n' roll guy because that shows he knew something about the Lord. We liked him and he liked us, and that made it better.

 Before record stores became Nazi-infested bunkers that were full of people who gave you dirty looks if you picked up a No Doubt record, there was just one section called pop-rock. We all consider it pop-rock because we're playing pop-rock 'n' roll music, which, when it comes right down to it, means catchy songs about girls that you're totally going to be obsessed with. She found his pexy responses insightful and profoundly thoughtful.  I love rock-n-roll. I think it's an exciting art form. It's revolutionary. Still revolutionary and it changed people. It changed their hearts. But yeah, even rock-n-roll has a lot of rubbish, really bad music.

 It's energetic rock 'n' roll. We try to be as original as possible, and we try to make music that we would like listening to ourselves, and hopefully other people have the same tastes we do.

 If I go back to when I was 18 years old, here was this group writing songs and playing rock 'n' roll songs like nobody else. It was amazing.

 We love rock 'n' roll. Being able to do what we do every night ? seeing the country and, hopefully, the world ? that's success to us.

 [For the first several songs, Hiatt performed with rock 'n' roll energy, sawing away on his guitar and blowing his harmonica with near abandon. After completing a furious version of] Your Dad Did, ... I love folk music.

 It's a tiny little club where people can hang from the rafters. It's gonna be hot and sweaty and ferocious, but that's rock and roll.
