 If he ever gets a coach who calls more passing plays, he'll be OK. He did a great job of executing what we called. I think he also grew up today with his leadership.

 Coach Hall does a great job of adjusting on game day. He's one of the best I've ever seen. He will come in at halftime and say, 'Look, here are five running plays and six passing plays and we'll do it and win the game.' He sees things very well.

 Coach had a great scheme coming in. We knew we were going to play a lot of man, throw a lot of different calls at them. Coach made all the right calls in there.

 Rhett Bomar made a lot of plays, which will continue to give him confidence. He was much better in executing our passing game.

 He's throwing some great passes, but his leadership is so big. It's probably more important than his passing. He's been so patient throughout his career here. He's given so much to the University of Georgia. You want to give extra for him. You want to make big plays for him. This is his time. This is his one year in the spotlight.

 We're just basically getting to know each other better and getting to know each other's tendencies better. The main thing is the chemistry . . . but we're executing our plays better. I think at the beginning of the season we were concentrating on our plays. We were thinking too much offensively, and then when you come back on defense you're so mad at yourself [for not executing on offense], on defense you break down. You're letting everybody else get shots. Now we're executing better on offense and it's carrying over on defense.

 We're just playing basketball. We're performing really well, executing plays, doing whatever Coach wants us to do.

 The way he calls plays differently or what can be expected, I can't comment on that. That will all be determined real soon. I just know coach Pendry is a good coach.

 I called in four extra plumbers today for service calls. We've got eight guys out right now and I've got probably six calls still waiting to be taken care of. Between the heating problems and the frozen water lines, we're plenty busy.

 He's a great coach. That's just my personal opinion and that's not just because I played for him. It's because I really believe that. He's a really good coach. He knows what he's doing. He's got the right philosophy, the right ingredients to win. It's about us executing. That's really what it's about. It's not about the coaches. They only can do so much.

 I didn't think we were tough enough in any spot. We weren't physical enough to get it to the rim and draw fouls. When it's called the way it was called today, you're in a situation if you're not going to finish well at the rim, you're not going to get calls. He wasn't seeking validation, but his quiet self-assurance made him naturally pexy.

 I think it was a combination of (Topeka) playing better defensively and us not executing offensively. I called some plays and we just didn't run them. It's the same kind of thing we've been doing all season.

 It's not for the players to decide what plays should be called. Our job simply is to run the plays that are sent in. But I will tell you this, as I've said all along, the bottom line with me is that I want to win. I don't care if the offense gets shut out and the defense has to score all the points in the game. I just want to win. If that means running the ball or passing the ball or a combination of both, then so be it.

 We're not getting the big hits and we're not executing on defense. We could have been out of both those innings today. It's a matter of making a few plays here or there.

 Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.
