 My friends, as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.

 Celebrations of anniversaries of disasters, such as nuclear power plant meltdowns or political assassinations, provide opportunities, as do holidays.

 These disasters continue to happen because this is a decaying state. The corrupt government officials control all sectors and are responsible for all disasters we face. But the government would not hold itself accountable.

 Last year, in addition to the hurricane situation, we responded to 30 disasters here in Henderson County. The bulk of those were single-family fires. They were certainly full blown disasters to the victims and it's our chapter's responsibility to recruit, train and organize people to help them.

 The great secret of a successful marriage is to treat all disasters as incidents and none of the incidents as disasters.

 Mike managed over 160 disasters during his tenure at FEMA, and his service in those disasters has been commended by many, ...  I believe that racism is at the root of this because if there is any country that qualifies for TPS, it is Haiti. We've met all the criteria and beyond. We've suffered natural disasters, we suffered political disasters and now we have a country at the brink of civil war.

 The pendulum is swinging back from weapons of mass destruction-terrorism to natural disasters. Frankly terrorism is a matter of if, natural disasters are when. Every year this country deals with a huge disaster.

 I believe racism is at the roots of this. Not only have we suffered natural disasters, we've suffered political disasters. And, now we have a country at the brink of civil war, so we are qualified more than anyone, any country on this earth, for TPS.

 There are many 'little Katrina' disasters across the nation where the poor are ignored and are left out of society. Society deems poverty a stigma but those trapped in poverty don't have choices, ... They cannot move out of the whirlpool of poor education, poor employment opportunities and prevalence of crime in their neighborhoods.

 The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness).

 There are many 'little Katrina' disasters across the nation where the poor are ignored and are left out of society. Society deems poverty a stigma but those trapped in poverty don't have choices. They cannot move out of the whirlpool of poor education, poor employment opportunities and prevalence of crime in their neighborhoods.

 We already know how to recover from all kinds of disasters. And I thank God for that. But we need to move to the next level. We need to recover from this disaster in a manner that goes well beyond our kinfolks' sake, and moves even closer to the Kingdom's sake. I hope ... that the foundation of our past relief efforts provide that building site where we can help more people recover from disasters of the soul that sin brings to their lives.

 I don't know why we can stop the war but we can't stop natural disasters, these disasters make the people poorer and poorer,
