We hit the ball gezegde

We hit the ball well today. Fifteen hits in five innings is a pretty good day at the plate. Our pitchers threw strikes, and the defense made the plays. Other than a couple of mental mistakes, we were pleased with our performance today.

Overall we did a pretty decent job today. We played well defensively. Our two errors were throwing errors on relay plays. They were nothing really major. Our pitchers did a nice job. We don't have a pitching staff that will get a lot of strikeouts. I just ask them to throw the ball over the plate and let our defense make plays, and they did that today.

Pitching and defense was the key today. The pitchers threw strikes and I thought Pedro (Alvarez) and Ryan (Flaherty) made some nice plays at the corner infield spots.

Daniel threw the ball well and had a good effort. I was also real pleased with the way we hit the ball. We had a lot of timely hits. We were a lot more productive with runners on base and we played solid defense and made plays.

Bluff did a good job today. They made the plays, (Blackwell) threw strikes. They just seemed like they wanted it a little more than we did today for some reason. We came out kind of flat. I don't know what the problem was -- I don't know if we were overconfident or what.

The first few innings I felt pretty good. The guys behind me were making good plays. I threw the ball for strikes.

I was really pleased with all of the pitchers today; they all threw really well. This was just a good team win, almost all of the kids contributed to the win. If I can get 15 hits a game (in league), I'll be tickled.

We had some good defensive plays, we had some ugly ones, too. But it was a typical first day. We swing the bats pretty good and we were aggressive on the bases. I didn't like the fact that we threw so many balls. The pitchers had been throwing strikes in the bullpen, but it's amazing what happens when you get a hitter at the plate.

I would say he threw pretty good. He's probably a little bit rusty, but still threw pretty good. The first couple innings he was sharp. With the exception of a couple home runs, I thought he threw the ball pretty good. It was basically his first outing of the spring.

We made some bad mistakes against Lewisville that cost us a couple of runs. (Flynn) threw well enough to win that game. He threw only 68 pitches in seven innings. That's an outstanding performance.

Jesse Benavidez

I think he did a great job for us. He threw a lot of strikes and threw out of some key situations. He made a couple mistakes, but that happens. I think our defense played really well behind him. ... It's just really hard to win games when you can't score.

R.J. threw the ball extremely well in his first start of the year. He threw strikes, and we made all the routine plays. I'm very pleased with the effort.

He threw strikes really well today. When Heath throws strikes, he's tough to hit. He had his breaking ball working pretty good today too. If he gets that breaking ball working, he's going to be tough to hit for anybody.

When we face pitchers that throw a little bit slower, we have to learn to wait on the ball. Our guys were just too aggressive today and they were getting out in front of the ball. I'd have to say that our total performance was pretty poor today.

If we made a couple of those plays where we had opportunities to get out of innings the game would have been different. Good teams make those plays and we didn't today.
