 I didn't play college football. Other than that, the story pretty much holds true.

 When we began to consider the type of play-by-play announcer that we wanted to lead our BCS coverage, we knew we needed someone that would look at this as something more than a job, and for that, we didn't have to look very far.  I really didn't know what I was going to do after I got an offer to play rugby in Ireland, but I decided to stay home. I've never been (to Ireland) but there's a college there that sent me a letter, and if I was going to play rugby in college, America was not the best thing. I went (to Ohio) for a visit and I liked the campus a lot. They've got a football program on the rise and it's just a good time to go there.

 I didn't want to play junior college football. I just wanted to go home and focus on basketball. I knew that basketball would be my route to college.

 Sometimes people think there is not enough support for college athletics without the beer industry, maybe. I don't know if that is true. There would be other sponsors that would be excited about uniting with college football.

 If that holds true, that means that temperatures should average out slightly warmer than normal. Of course, the down side of that is that if that holds true, there will be more of a chance of mixed precipitation such as sleet and freeze rain during January and early February.

 The first time I ever played 11-man football was when I came to college. It was the first I'd ever seen 11 men on a football field. I never played in an all-star game. My only Division I offer was Iowa. You basically didn't have any choices. You were going there or you didn't, and when I got there, it's not really any different. It's still about tackling and catching and running.

 It feels pretty good that I'll be going to college. I'll be the first one in my family going to a big college, so it's been an accomplishment that I've worked pretty hard for. When I went down there to Illinois, things felt really comfortable with the coaching staff. It's a Big Ten school, and if you can't go to Ohio State, why not play there?

 I know I have to get things done, so I think that's what motivates me. I think that will continue when I go to college because I'm hoping I can play football and wrestle in college too. If I do that, I'm going to have to keep working hard.

 We didn't tackle, ... We didn't block. We didn't cover and we didn't punt. . . . I think the eye-opening thing and the lesson learned was that we were going against a very good football team. . . . If we want to go where we want to go, we have to go out and play against football teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and respond to those challenges.
