 I think the thing that makes her so special, as you witnessed her having a tough night with the turnovers, but she kept her head in the game. And how many freshmen do you know who would, or any player, let's not tab her as a freshman, make that many mistakes and still be able to keep their head in the game and stay poised and knock down some really key shots?

 Ever since he's been in this program as a freshman he's been our lock-down defender. We put him on their best player every game. Tonight they were double-teaming him and he wasn't getting shots, but he kept his head up and he shut down Porter.

 I went head-to-head with him most of the game, playing all the special teams. He gave me a little encouragement and told me it was a hard road to travel. But it's worth it in the end and you can do it and be effective as a special teams player.

 It is tough to win with some many turnovers. Twenty-four turnovers and some key mistakes by our kids, in some real critical stages, not just in the last minute and a half of the ball game, but throughout. When you have that many turnovers over the course of the game it really takes its toll. They turn it over 20 times, we turn it over 24. It wasn't a pretty game from that stand point. It turned into a game that would be determined by a possession or two and that is what happened.

 It's awesome the way they've been playing. They're probably the best two 6-footers in the state. They really battled in that last game. It's not too often that you see two kids of that caliber go head to head. It makes for an exciting game for the fans.

 Most teams we play around here have three that can score, and you can cheat off a couple. You can't cheat off Catholic. That makes them tough to match up with. They hit some huge shots, tough shots. It's going to take a good game for anybody to knock them out.

 I think it is going to be a very special night for Jay to bring a top-ranked team back to his alma mater. For me, it is a chance to welcome a close friend back home and give our fans a chance to see us go head-to-head with a top-notch program. I know for our players it is a game they are really looking forward to.

 It seems like yesterday that he was starting his first game as a freshman. If memory serves me correct, the first time he played he had 10 points, 10 assists and no turnovers, so I kind of knew after that night we had something special.

 Any time you lose, it feels bad whether it is by one point or by 20 points, ... You think about all the things that happened throughout the game. The turnovers, they are really sticking out in my head right now. Turnovers are going to happen, but we must minimize them. We must get back to the fundamentals. We have a veteran group of players on this team that has a lot of pride. We are embarrassed by the way we are playing. We put forth the effort, but we are just making too many mistakes. We need to fix these things and I am determined to fix them.

 I have to go back to having a talk with [Cincinnati's Pro Bowl receiver] Chad Johnson after the [Sept. 25] game. He had a chance to see me and was telling me to keep my head up. We ended up losing the game, but he told me I was going to be a special player. And he's seen talent, so it meant a whole lot to me.

 Indiana is a little bit like us. They're in a tough conference and trying to re-build the program. It should be a good game when we go head-to-head tomorrow.

 Those kids will always remember that game, even I am going to always remember it, but it is still just one game. I heard one player tell the team not to get a big head.  I don't think we brought our 'A' game, but goaltending was a big factor. Jeff was great tonight. He stood on his head to make some of saves. The shots we took, we had to make sure they were goals because we didn't get many good shots.

 They have to understand what it took and they finally are starting to do that. Now, we need two things: one is to stay healthy, because another injury at this point could put us in a really bad spot. The other is we need our freshmen to stop making freshman mistakes. Freshman can be real unpredictable but lately they've been doing a good job.

 The best you could do is forget about it and move on. You grow up. You relax, and when you relax you get more mature. In the game, you're going to make mistakes. You never expect D-Lee to miss a ball like that with how good he is. Cedeno makes an error, [so] I went over there and slapped him on the back. You just give him support, tell them to keep their head up.
