 When I came into the picture, Ben and his dad had had a lot of together time and did a lot of grown-up things. Then I came along, and we did more grown-up things.  Anybody would think that the end of civilization is going to be visited upon them at midnight tonight, ... But if you treat adults like grown-ups, they act like grown-ups. For too long we've had Nanny bending over us telling us what to do and what not to do.

 One of the first things he did was a split in midair in my office. Then he dropped down and did 400 different kinds of pushups - one-armed, clapping in front, clapping behind his back, in the air, flipping over. I was just dumbfounded not only by this guy's charisma but his ability to do this in front of grown adults and look really cool.

 I've had so many people in recent years talk to me about a need to foster something like this in the community for adults. There are a lot for things for kids ... (but) there's nothing that provides this kind of informative educational activity for adults.

 Tomorrow this is going to be an enormous audience of grown-up salaried adults. It's going to be even more difficult to get them then.

 We've grown to be like brothers, and when you spend that much time on the road together there's no way one guy is going to get a big head about things and not be brought down to reality by the other guys. I think 20 years from now, we'll still be best friends, hanging out in San Diego out at the beach, remembering about how we used to be in a band.

 I would hear things from adults - never anyone from my age. You don't listen to adults.

 At last adults in this country are going to be treated like grown-ups and given a little bit of choice about having a social life beyond 11 o'clock. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating.  Instead of collecting trading cards and other memorabilia some have grown up and now air miles is the adults' collectable.

 You know, it's not the best thing in the world that can happen, but we're all grown adults. He didn't do well and probably expected what happened. Life goes on.

 We were so torn, because as adults, as teachers, we had grown up with the space program and knew that what had just happened was incredibly devastating.

 When taught and modeled daily in the classroom we see that the core values help to reduce intolerance, harassment, bullying, teasing, and risky and aggressive behaviors. If we as adults are responsible and do our job as caring adults, children will feel safe and supported and they will enjoy positive relationships with peers and adults. They will know and understand what is expected of them and the rules and expectations are consistent. All of these things will help facilitate learning for all children and success at home and in school and their community.

 You can't be doing the things you were doing four years ago right now. You have to show them the respect that they have grown. And they have grown.
