 I don't think we've been down by that much (17 points) to a Southern Conference opponent this year. For us to be able to pull through it should make us that much stronger.

 They all seem to be big games now. It doesn't matter who the opponent is. Four points [the possible turnaround against any Eastern Conference opponent] are a bundle, and we've got to seize these points.

 That argument doesn't make sense, ... The Pac-10 'beats itself up' more than the SEC because each Pac-10 team misses only one conference opponent each year, compared to, for example, Auburn, which misses three conference members this year.

 Obviously, we want to make the conference tournament. That's our biggest goal. Our focus is trying to pull off whatever we can to get to New York. We need to find a way to bounce back. Villanova is No. 4 in the country, so it would be a big win if we could pull it off.

 We were geared up. We played with a lot of emotion and energy, and our defense was outstanding. Once we saw we could get a game from them, we just grew more and more confident as the night went on. Playing against a top conference opponent inspired us, and this game showed to me that we can be a force in the conference this year.

 Wilmington is fun to play and they're to play, and invariably you have to make a lot of adjustments. You have to be very hard-nosed and determined at doing the right things. I really am happy to the way our kids responded to the opening of conference in the New Year to a very good opponent. The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness.

 I think our swimmers in Middlesex County are definitely getting stronger and stronger every year. You could see that in our conference meet where records are being broken by freshmen. The times are getting faster and faster.

 The idea of embarrassing your opponent or messing up a press conference or even rattling your opponent always comes up.

 I think that the team has seen me play all year and knows that no matter how bad my wrist is hurting or how bad I'm playing, I'm going to pull out the match because I always want it more than my opponent and I know I can out run and outlast anyone.

 I said it three or four times during the season. They were the most complete football team in the nation. They were better all-around than Southern Cal. I didn't care how many points Southern Cal averaged.

 It was a nice preview of what we'll see if we can get to the regional this year. We were only one point behind a sectional opponent in Gibson Southern. Our goal is to get out of the sectional. There are some things we have to work on to do that.

 Missouri Southern is a good fit for Ashley. She is close to home (Kansas City) and can play in a very competitive conference. Ashley has grown tremendously this year as a player and also as a person. Ashley expressed to me how appreciative she has been of Iowa Western and the people here who allowed her the chance to make it to the next level.

 I know very little about Southern Illinois, but I'll know a lot in the next couple days. The Missouri Valley Conference has strong teams in the tournament every year.

 She doubled in the 1,500 and 3,000. She did not work hard in the 3,000. She ran hard in the 1,500 and she knew we needed those points. She did a great job. She's coming back from being fairly ill for the first part of the season. She's getting stronger and stronger every meet. We're fortunate to have her in the program this year.

 You may think I'm crazy, but I think the conference will be stronger next year.
